A work mate told me about this park run, you just need a barcode don't you and you can run anywhere? There's a local one in Tatton Park.

My time was an embarrasingly slow 41 mins, but I walked parts and somehow went the wrong way so had to double back.
And considering I did it cold turkey with no prep i was pretty pleased just to complete it and still feel like I want to go back and do it again, so looking to shave a few mins of that next week at least, and then see where it gets me.
Picked up my mountain bike yesterday as well so can really work on the ol' fitness

The joy discovering a pair of the wht/blk skeighties I'd recently purchased and just shoved in the pile and totally forgotten all about. Bonus!

If any of you guys are serious about running (and lets face it, it is not for everyone, you have to be a bit odd to like it) I can recommend this book, it tells you everything about running, a total godsend when I started 10 years ago.

Good work, its a cracking book, basically explains what happens to your body when you run and how to build up a "running" fitness, ie - it does take a while.
Without that book I would not have ran 16 half marathons in last ten years.
I'm thinking of trying pilates as apparently it can help with the stretching.

I am finding this site quite good. I like you can map your route out. When the slippy leaves disappear I may give running a try. I got quite far with the treadmill, until I sacked the gym.
