Right, as I have mentioned on a previous thread, my other hates me calling sports shoes, sneakers, she reckons they are trainers as I am not American.
What do you call them?

sneaks, kicks, soops, or shoes. mostly i refer to my kicks as what they are. so vins are vins. ss1 or 2 are soops. underworlds are underworlds. upper playgrounds are barbeques, pro models are pro mods. etc.
often preceded by the adjective 'swet' - a woman I work with doesn't say things are sweet, they're swet. so it's 'oh my god, those bordeaux vins are fkn swet.'

I call them several different things, sneakers, trainers, kicks... I've only started calling them trainers in the last coupla years, but growing up it was always sneakers, and I'm definitely not american

Kicks, sneaks or supes for me as well.
I know i'm english, but it's just a habit I fell into. Besides, they're not training shoes so I don't think trainers is all that accurate (but then again, I guess sneakers or licks aren't either)
