Is it the og Sony? Be interested to see how much you pay?
They are great little things mate, definitely cheaper but just as useable as a hard disk recorder for portable recordings. I also like the old Iriver MP3 players, they also recorded in WAV. Good luck.

Seems like Benny, Pojey n me may be the only one's with these Sony mini MDs LOL...yeah I thought it was great too re a hardcase and the small size, but it never seemed to take off, did it? Mine is a huge rectangular weight in the basement...I did like the keyboard feature though re digital labelling of titles/albums/songs/etc....that is, before iTunes, the net etc....even have a portable mini MD walkman too....

Tif, I got the DAT too...at the time, used it to 'digitize' my 12's...was studio quality...at the time......

Ask me how many fookin blank MDs n DATs I have stored in a box somewhere....

I've got boxes and boxes of minidiscs, used to use them to record every band practise back in the day. Loads of field recordings of temple bells in India and tropical jungles and who knows what else that I'm still waiting to use for something. Ten years ago they were pretty much the best thing you could use for cheap, portable recording. Got a tiny digital 4 track that records onto SD cards these days but I still rate the minidisc.

I don't wear Crocs, and I don't wear sandals/The pump don't work 'cause the vandals took the handles . . .

Errol, not sure about the audio world but TV's all gone the way of servers for storage. You will rarely see tape for acquisition in the field but it's usually on P2 (or other) cards or XD cam.

Ben, speaking of Tascam, I'm about to get a portable recorder from them to use for audio with shooting DSLR stuff.
