You can't say that about d&b! Shocked

I've got to totally disagree there, if you listen to shit like Pendulum and that lot then it is very formulaic (sp?) but dig a little deeper and get to the real beats and it's the best music on the planet! I'm talking Paradox, Breakage, Equinox etc

You into your old hardcore though Pure, how come you never got into d&b as the natural progression from that?

The wheels kept falling off my zimmer frame.
Very Happy
I wasn't really into hardcore as you know it.
House music and techno got faster with more vocal samples and it became known as hardcore.
Stuff like Anesthesia and Dominator.
I soon got bored after that and only listened to what was known as Intelligent house music like Fianl Frontier by Underground Resistance and the shit that Colin Dale used to play.
I'll have a listen to those tunes you named but I'll be surprised if they're not using the same old breaks.
You gotta bear in mind chaps, I'm mid thirties now.
When I used to go ravin' (hate that word) there would only be one guy with a horn or one guy with a whistle and that would be his thing and he was known for it and became a character.
By the time Dominator came out there would be a dozen people in the club with horns and when I went to my last large rave at Energy in 1992 every dopey cunt had one, and a pair of white gloves, and a glow stick.
That's when I started going to Knowledge at SW1 which had a slightly older clientele or Mr C's club "The End".
It's all good I suppose but it's just not my thang.

You won't see any of that gubbins at a decent d&b night matey, it's mis-understood to be honest. Go to Hysteria or something like that and you will see horns and stuff but that's not proper d&b.

When I say hardcore I meant the very early 90's stuff on Sub Base and Moving Shadow etc rather than the happy hardcore thing, it's all too bloody confusing Laughing

Most of what i listen to now is heavy stuff and chopped up breaks and the like that most people wouldn't be into at all.

Anyway mate each to his own eh? Wink
