Hey guys just thought I'd introduce myself, the name's Heavy, Im just turned 22 and Im from a remote Scottish island (which is, as you could expect, a bit crap when trying to find good clothing/shoes). Been a long-time lurker (mainly just to distinguish what is fake and whats not) and this place is great. (after learning a few tell tale signs, i realised a couple "bargains" I had picked up weren't so great...)

Im looking to start a collection of track tops at the moment, the two particular styles I want most are also possibly amongst the most counterfeited (the Adidas Porsche Track Top with green racing stripe, and the rasta firebird).I've found that scouring ebay for things is tiresome, but in my current location its the only real viable option for me (we have just one shop that sells Originals gear, and its gash). Im unsure how to tell the signs of a real tracktop/firebird, which is sort of why I'm posting now. I'm not sure what you're policy on discussing things outside of trainers is in the fake forum so I thought I'd just say this in my introduction, but if anyone could help me out or point me in the direction of a forum/site that gives you some more info on this, I'd be grateful. If anyone perhaps even wanted to take a look at a couple of auctions for me (pushing my luck I know) that would be great.

I hope to get into some good Adidas discussion with you guys, and eventually (when I think its respectable enough ), I'll share with you my collection

Of course! at the moment Im sporting a navy/white pair of IIs, although I prefer just wearing some originals for every day use/going to the pub. There something I'd like to collect more of, but the ones I want are near impossible to find, to the point where Ive given up. I got burned, badly, on a couple of pairs of 35ths, now I've just been getting pairs to wear (although dont get me wrong, Im sure there'll be some designs that crop up that I have to get). I do own a nice pair of woven supes that I don't wear about, but I dont have much in the way of a true collection. What I DO kick myself for is passing up the Muhammad Ali Values series when I had the chance, HUGE boxing fan!!

Hello, I think it's real hard to distinguish between real and fake track tops on eBay - probably best to check the seller - if they are a legit seller of Originals gear then you should be fine. If they are from Hong Kong / far east / or just a general public seller then I would be very careful!!

The rasta firebirds sold out years ago, there's so many fake variations out there..... you see a lot more fakes than real ones these days. Same with the shoes.

For all things adidas your best bet is to move to near a city.

Hello and welcome Heavy. I have a Rasta Firebird, size L (maybe XL, I'll check later when I'm home) worn no more than 5-6 times. I'm not willing to sell it (unless you're willing to pay silly money) but would consider trading it for something else, preferably an A15 style track-top, I'm not mad keen on the Firebird's high collar. I realise rasta firebirds sold out a while ago, but I was under the impression footlocker had an exclusive just last year?

Im annoyed because I think i may have missed out on a real one at a good price (£42 it went for!), but Im only guessing it was real due to the pics looking pretty genuine and the guys reassurance that track tops all come with "codes" to prove authenticity (is this even true?). theres one going from the US for $70 at the moment, it has a tag saying "sample" on it, Im not clued upto these thing and am unsure what to make of it. regardless, Ive never bothered bidding for fear of getting ripped off, its a catch 22! Thanks for the offer Shellshock, I dont have anything Im willing to trade at the moment, most of what ive got is just different firebirds, but cheers anyway buddy

I just emailed a seller from edinburgh askinjg if his products were real, he said they werent, should I report him? or is there no point?

I have a fair few TTs myself but not a rasta firebird i'm afraid..so goodluck with the search for that one.
Although alot of hassle as long as you pay via paypal and can then prove the item you bought is not a genuine adidas product you can claim to get your money back (normally takes about 30days)
What size are you after in the ali values series??

How can you prove something isnt genuine? is it possible to send stuff to adidas or what? would it mean returning the goods to the seller at my own expense as well? Id quite happily take the risk if I knew I could get my money back.

Afraid not uk7s mate sorry.
Technically if the item is fake it should be destroyed not returned to the seller for them to most likely try and re-sell to someone less knowing.
But obviously thats alittle more hassle you have to go through with paypal as your looking for a full refund but not to return the item.
I'm not sure if adidas do legit checks anymore but i think they did them at some stage for a fee???
Maybe someone else knows and can give you a deffo on that.
