Cheers chaps, I had a fabulous chilled out day, watching old movies and then having drinkies with a few friends in the evening.
My girlfriend got me John Carpenter dvd box set (Assault On Precinct 13, Escape From New York, The Fog, The Thing, Prince of Darkness and They Live), Smackdown vs RAW 2011 Hitman edition and an awesome adidas black peaked beanie.

Nice presents! I like John Carpenter's older movies. In the 70s and 80s he always managed to make something decent, sometimes great even with a minimal budget by doing alot of the stuff himself and using the same actors and production team. Most of his older movies have a funny tongue-in-cheek perspective on certain things instead of being dead serious all the time.

hahahaha
Intresting movie fact.... Assault On Precinct 13 does not actually take place in Precinct 13! Epic title fail. Check out details on IMDB for more info!

That's probably my fav John Carpenter movie. The minimalistic score is just perfect and ever so often sampled, borrowed and remade in various styles of music over the past 30+ years.
Yeah the misnomer in the title is old news but quite a funny one indeed. Even funnier is that Carpenter didn't even like the whole title, with or without the false detail but eventually agreed when the producers pushed on with it. I'm not sure if Carpenter's initial title The Anderson Alamo would have had quite a similar effect than the final one did. The movie is basically a remake of the classic western Rio Bravo but the Alamo title might have been a bit misleading considering the style of the movie.
