Hey everybody,
I was born in Alaska, grew up in Seattle, WA, rocked my college years in the Bay Area (Oakland / Berkeley / SF) of Northern California, and I'm now based in Berlin, Germany. I can't quite remember when I became obsessed with supes (and adidas Originals in general) but I know I've had the jones for quite a long time. I love hip hop and actively participate in 2 of the 4 elements, one of which is dancing. Instead of breakin' though, I rock a newer style called TURF (or Turfin') that came out of Oakland. If you've never heard of it then check out the wikipedia article and peep some of the Oakland dancers on YouTube. Basically it focuses a lot of toe balance and for this the adidas Superstar is by far the most superior shoe. Not the only reason I rock a supe but still a reinforcement of the utility of the shoe.
I got my first pair of supes nearly by accident, stumbled on a used pair of the Berlin 35th Anniversary superstars (seriously a lucky find) only a day before I was flying out to Berlin for the first time ever (a weird coincidence right?). At that time I wasn't so aware of the 35th Anniversary collection and had no idea what I'd found. Today I look at it as my lucky start. Since then I've piled up about 20 to 30 adidas Originals kicks in my collection, but sadly only 4 of these are supes at the moment. I'm looking to change that everyday by keepin' my eyes peeled for rare ones and deals out there...
I feel honored to join a community like this. Thanks for setting the site up and inviting strangers (like me) in.
