The Techno Geek thread...

Trying to get one this Friday. I might know one store that is a bit remote and therefore shouldn't have crazy queues when they open the store. Not going camping though - maybe an hour early and if it's already packed then will wait.

Typing this from mine, got it earlier. Free upgrade from the iPhone 4, wouldn't have bothered otherwise. Liking it a lot so far.

Yeah but apart from the screen size and the 4g (which isn't available in the uk yet) why would I bother??

Because your a sad crapple fan boy that will spend hundreds of pounds on something that is barely recognisably different to its predecessor and has been hyped up by other sad losers, ...........................and repeat in 6 months time.

No offence that's not aimed at you Streak or anyone else on here but there is something seriously wrong with you if your willing to queue outside a shop for a week to buy a telephone just because the screen slightly bigger than the one that is no doubt in your pocket, plus you could have just ordered it online or waited like a non twatish person.

Just in case you were wondering, no i'm not getting an iphone 5! Very Happy

So says the sad crappie fan girl who has spent hundreds of pounds on sneakers, barely recognisably different to the pairs she no doubt has in her closet, which have been hyped up by other sad losers (that's us!).... And repeat in 6 months time

My house is certainly not made of glass, I have never and will never camp outside a shop for a week of my life in order to buy something, I've never queued up for any amount of time to buy any of my trainers, the vast majority have been brought from the comfort of my own home. Why the fuck would I spend an entire week outside on the street in front of some shitty shop when I could just order the crappy thing online, those people are stupid fucktards.

I know. Obviously, I get wanting the "new thing" but I'd never camp or line up for it. I ordered mine online. 2 people I work with got them in midtown Manhattan only waiting for 20 minutes.

BTW, depending on where you are, the LTE may actually be faster than WiFi.

Yeah. You order early enough you get the device on the day the people who line up do. It's what I did with my latest iPad.

End of the day, it's a phone and it will be junk in two years. Unlike soops, which only get better with age.

Got mine delivered on Friday.
That online ordering thing isn't as straight forward as you think.
They went on sale at 8am and had sold out by 9, apparently.
I love it but that's hardly surprising as I'd suffered long and hard with the 2G up until the last 3 months when I was lucky enough to have a 3G...................
Oh, and my network is being allowed to roll out LTE at the start of October so, boom tish!

I personally wouldn't camp out to buy anything, be it the latest gadget or a pair of kicks. But in my opinion doing so is no more retarded than having a room full of pretty much identical shoes, some of which I've owned for years and not actually got round to wearing yet. The money I've spent on those blue boxes could've help pay for my daughter's education, taken us on a kick-ass family holiday, bought a new kitchen, paid for the surgery I could use on my shoulder or countless other things we (think) we need. Or I wonder how much better all that money could've been spent if I'd given it to someone like Dregz to use in his work in Africa? When I look at it in those terms, I do feel slightly hypocritical scorning someone just because they chose to wait inline to get their latest phone. We're not that different.
