I have a few pairs (non-80s) that I sometimes get 'Roberted'....just use thicker socks, or better yet, make sure they're cotton...helps with slipage....80s to me are a wider fit - but then I've been biased to them since they made a nice comback these past few yrs...

You mans would've suffered in the 80's. Laces had to be loose and wide as possible, shoes were practically dangling off your feet, you could forget about running or jumping. Still can't bear to see a man strangling his shoes with over-tight lacing, it creases up your shoes. I always lace my shoes up with my foot in it to ensure it's not too tight.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

What I usually do is lace them real loose. Then I put my hand or my foot in the shoe and tighten thhe laces. I'll try 'em out, if they are still to loose I use insoles or tighten the laces more. The best fit for me are SS 2's. SS 1's are also a bit too wide.

Personally i always lace mine wit a shoe-tree in..then alter accordingly.
80s do fit bigger than ss1s ss2s etc etc...Maybe you could possibly drop half a size poor sod??get a tighter/better fit allowing you to loosen them laces
straggling the fooka's is killing the style and look of what is a awesome superstar

Nah I can't go down in size I think. I'm off for some shoe shopping tomorrow for mrs PS. Maybe I'll try on a UK8½ but I'll doubt it will fit comfortable.

I meant hand OR foot guys. I don't want to go down a half size either, I think my toes would touch the shell.

Both my 80's have fatter laces in and laced loose!

It's the only way.
