Well the title says it all. Tell us the story behind your first pair! I go first:

It was back in 1998 and Sneakersnstuff was a pretty new phenomenon in Stockholm where I lived at the time. On the same street actually. This was a few years after the relaunche of the Originals line and the Superstar was back in stock (at least I hadn't seen 'em in a long time), mostly whites with colored stripes. But I never liked to have something that anyone else easily could get. There's almost always supposed to be some sort of effort behind a purchase I think. Anyway I had a dream of a pair of all white Supes which at the time did not exist in Sweden and internet shopping was far away in the future. I wasn't sure they existed at all actually, but I hoped so.

This was also a time when internet was something new and I hadn't really experienced the possibilities this would give.

SnS was the experts and had all the knowledge so I walked in and asked them if all white supes existed and in that case if they could get me a pair. After some research they let me know that they could do that and would call me when they'd arrived.

At the same time a friend of mine went on a job trip to Los Angeles and I banned my self for not thinking about giving him the mission to find me those supes instead. However the guy from SnS called me and said they could get me the shoes, but they would be some what expensive and he didn't wanna take them in before he talked to me so I said "Ok I think I might be able to get them elsewhere".

I went back to my school cause that's the only place where I had access to the internet. I checked out Adidas.com and there you could get adresses for retailers in L.A. So I picked them all out with adresses and all and emailed my friend with description and size of the shoe. To my surprise he answered in just a couple of minutes cause he was sitting on an internet café at Sunset Boulevard (I think it was that street) checking his mail and he said there was a Footlocker or something similar just a block away so further more a couple of minutes later I got an email saying he had bought the shoes! Amazing!

When he was back in Sweden again I stopped by his office and picked the shoes up. They were so beautiful and cool. No one had that shoe in Stockholm at the time. Not that I knew of anyway. That was one of the best days ever!

It would be years before I saw another pair of all white superstars on someone elses feet. Now they're just about everywhere I guess, but that's another story...

My first supes were actually Pro Mods, does that count?
It was like 1998/1999 and I was a skater. I mostly wore skateshoes like DC's, Etnies, Vans etc. Then I noticed I guy at school who had these nice black shoes with white stripes and a rubber nose. I fell in love immediately. I had never seen such shoes (well maybe in an Run DMC -clip a long time ago).

I asked the guy where he got them from. The answer was Amsterdam. So I took the train to Amsterdam and bought a pair of black and white Pro Models. Man o man, was I happy. They looked bloody awesome with a pair of baggy pants and I thought everybody was looking at my shoes I have never felt more proud.

But then, Adidas decided to drop the Superstar (blacks and whites) in every store all over the country. Everybody was buying supes. Suddenly I didn't feel so special anymore. I did wear the Pro Mods untill they actually fell apart (a friend of mine bought a white pair shortly after I bought my pro mods and he still has them and wears them).

After that I bought 3 pairs of Supes and then nothing for a long time.

Then my last pair of supes was about to die and I needed to replace them. My love for the Superstar never went away do I began my search for a special pair and then I found SSDB. A couple of months later and I own 20 pairs .

First pair was way back in 92-93, white with black stripes (the 10 a penny mofo's)

93-95 was a dark period of A*r M*x

Then in about 95 I bought some denim blue, which were the fucking dogs, been hooked ever since.

i got my first pair of sups when i was still in school iv still got them there the first pic in my collection thread i htink it was about 03 or 04 anyway if i had known those were the gate way trainers to this terrible money draining addiction iv developed i would have ran a mile but they hav elasted me all these years and now sit on my self next to my ever growing collection

Eek. Dating myself here for sure.

My first Supes were in 1983 as a young 9th grader in high school and hearing RUN-DMC's "Sucker MC's" for the very first time. The song entranced me. Found the vinyl and the cassette at a little music shop in our downtown district. I saw what RUN-DMC actually looked like for the first time standing in line to pay at the cash register. For the rest of my freshman year and into my sophomore year and even my junior year, I would kick it around campus in my Supes with no laces. Of course, they would fly off while breakdancing, but that was part of the flava back in the day. My addiction to Hip Hop was cemented with that one vinyl record.

Word to that Oskool! My story's pretty much a mirror of yours.....of course there wasn't a tonne of color selection back then, so my 1st pair was the white leather w/ black stripes...classic though...my true first pair of sneaks were these Adidas trainers...Spirits? I think they were called...look like LA Trainers and were a nice navy blue w/ silver stripes....had the royal blue w/ neon stripes too....
