I bought a pair of supes from a UK based eBayer, After winning the auction he told me that his paypal was down and if I was able to pay him with a banktransfer. I told him that this was no problem if he gave me his IBAN, BIC and his address. The only problem is that this fella still lives in 1990 and doesn't know what IBAN and BIC is. He gave me his bankaccountnumber but I can't pay him with this from the Netherlands...

So my question is if any of the UK members is prepared to arrange this transaction for me with a banktransfer? I will pay you first via paypal offcourse.

cant he just phone his bank and get that info?... to be fair, i only just used a iban/bic, it aint a case of living in 1990, i think we just dont have much use for them in england.. maybe you europeans but more stuff internationally or summin

I've never heard of either of them to be honest. If I was you though mate I'd ask what exactly is wrong with his paypal, as if you pay with a bank tranfer you lose a lot of protection.

Iban and bic is basically the german version or meaning for are bank account number and sort code

^ It's nothing German but it's a sort of the international version of your bankaccount number. IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number and in the IBAN are the initials of your country, bank, account and a few other numbers. In the future the IBAN may replace the normal accountnumbers to make everything easier instead of the normal bankaccount number you use to make national transfers and the IBAN when you make international transfers nowadays. I used some websites tonight which translates (It's not the right word, but it comes the closest to the Dutch word that I have in mind right now ) normal account numbers into the IBAN numbers from all countries and banks from over the world and none of them can find his account number... All a bit weird. I just asked what exactly is wrong with his paypal, especially because the auction mentioned that he accepted paypal, so hoping for an answer for that. And if I don't get an answer I keep the money in my pocket .
