Right, UKers I'm in need of some advice.
My cooker's dying and I need to buy a replacement, but know absolutely nothing about this stuff and their isn't a What Cooker guide to help me out.
This is a shot in the dark, but do any of you know anything about this stuff and where would be the best place to buy a good one without getting shafted on price and/or quality?
In need of a gas cooker, btw.
Cheers.

I would say grab one off your local Freebay site but you have to sell 3 things before you can receive normally.
Ebay should have something cheap with local pick up as a stand in until you've done some research.

Check Freeads and Adtrader too. Normally some people who just want a token £20. If you want brand new though, go to a local shop that does that stuff and ask for some help. You'll get a rough idea of what you're after and go from there. Least that's how we did it for our last one.

Thanks for the replies, fellas.
Gonna go with a brand new one - the other half wants warranty and all that biz..
The one we've got is not sharing the gas on the hobs right at all. If two or three hobs are turned on the power all 3 get will be piss poor. Almost like th cooker hobs are running in serial rather than independently.

Ermmmm Argos has buying guides in the catalogue for stuff like that like what to look for etc. Also try which? guides.
As for cheapness have u got a mate with a wholesale card, as Costco and Makro do em cheapish but just look in sales n stuff. Also buy beofore Jan when the VAT goes back up again.

Hate to poo poo the little ladies ideas but I'd say buy after the New Year as a 2.5% increase in VAT is gonna be far outweighed by the sales action.
But I'm guessing it's a moot point cos you need one quick.

Yeah but sales won't start, probably, until the new year.

Times might not be so tough this year but you'll probably be right.
Seems we've turned into a nation of late shoppers forcing the early sales.
