Yeah, I know the weight slides up and down but I thought the dial with the markings was only on the vinyl side.

Cheers fella.
That's not what I expected to see, I think he's modded those cos that dial is usually on the other side of the weight.
Unless it's on both sides.
no worries.. yeah from memory i thought it was plain black on the back, my house mate has lent his decks out other wise i would double check
ahh, just watched that link.. tis plain on the back

Wicked, cheers MO.
Seems we both sort of knew what we were talking about and were both right.

When I first signed in to ssdb I sure didn't know that I'm going to learn something about deck's and DJing. Man that's just fantastic!

The story so far, on the arm at least.
It ain't perfect and will unfortunately have to be spoiled a little so it can be copied and cast.
No point in adding too much detail as it won't print.
The head on the screw for example is only 0.2 mm across and the printer can't go below 0.1 mm so adding the grippy bits on the dials and such is pointless.
Interesting exercise though.
It's gonna be about 3 1/2 inches wide.
I've made it in one file apart from the turntable but the finished piece will be in four pieces to help with polishing.
The arm, the turntable, the front and the back.
It will polished and or set with stones and then laser welded together so the turntable still spins.
I'm using 3Design.
Is the only difference between a 1200 and a 1210 the colour ?
I everything else in the same place ?

Nice one Gez.
I'm pretty close to done now, been juggling plenty photos to get the main details of the head shell and the base right.
It's gonna look lovely made.

I think I got vector cartridge images still if they'll help?

I'm just gonna bung a rough and ready cartridge under the shell as the arm will be fixed in place so people won't be able to see much of it anyway.
Cheers though.

I'll have to see how much it's gonna be to print it in wax before I can come up with a definite price but I'm expecting it to retail for silly money having looked around the market.
I'm selling one at the moment for £500 in cash.

Geez my votes LATE on this one, but I'm a 1200 guy me'self...back in the day, there were really not much other options, and IMO, not much better has come along in the last 20+ yrs, then again WTF do I know since I've been out of the DJ game since the 90's I did like the black one when Technics finally changed it up a bit....can't even recal the last needles I used - Ortofon Concord? I think....still have my pair of 1200s and the cartridges to boot - not to mention all my vinyl.
P.S. Nice CAD Pure!
