I've heard the stories on here about them basically having one foot as a display model that may or may not look battered or worn/exposed (due to sunlight etc) and the other foot being brand new, and I'm wondering if any of you would or have taken the plunge buying anything really rare or expensive from them knowing this?
I don't want to spend a large amount on something that looks battered but at the same time, I'm wondering if it's always the case that they have the one foot battered thing?
Also, does this go for the shoe box as well?
If I spend a larger amount, I'd really hope to be getting immaculate shoes and box - is there any hope of that with Sportie L.A?
Anyone have very good experience of buying from them?
Cheers,
B.

Plenty of people in here have bought from them.
If that's what they're doing then you've gotta be prepared for it.
A few well aimed emails prior to buying should get you the answers you're looking for.

What you have heard is true. I live in LA and have been to both their stores. They don't seem to take care of their stock too well. Once, I saw "one" green consortium that was ruined from sun exposure. Not nice. That said, what pure said is true. Email first and ask what your are getting.
These kicks need their own theme music.

They don't pack very well, so the boxes were mashed, they also charge shipping per box which killed me, plus they didn't mention the mildew on the dark 35th's I got, but they arrived and had my size so I'm still happy
If ain't broken don't fix it

the stores are like the mcdonalds for trainers
loads of people hanging around talking shit and getting in the way
never mail ordered from them but always found that in person the newer the shoe the better condition the box will be in
when stock has been laying around for years i get the feeling they throw them around a lot (no matter what the quality of the shoe)
seen plenty of 35th boxes crushed to death in there
so this is killer island....

Too late now, I've gone for the 25% discount deal and ordered some Missy's.
Couldn't turn my nose up at that as it's about half the price i'd have to pay at PYS, which is the only other place I've seen them in my size.
I hope sportiela's dispatch isn't as incompetent as their customer liason.
Quite concerned I'm going to get stuffed on these via one shoe being a mess.
Fingers crossed.

That wouldn't even be ironic.. I'd feel like it was a waste of time if the charges bring it up to what I'd have had to pay with PYS.
