Can't remember exactly either, got my first pair about 25-26 years ago when i was 5-ish. The only thing i do remember, they were white with black or blue stripes and that's about it. I doubt the original pair's been stored anywhere for future reference so i could take a pic.. Not quite sure either what initially got me into loving them as much as i do now. Must have been something powerful.
Always wore a pair of black or white supes (or occasionally black Gazelles
) to the ground throughout my school years and didn't get a new pair until the current ones were totally beaten to death. I sure loved them and wore supes everywhere all the time when being outside. Then again i was also many years without any white ones due to getting kinda sick of them until recently i've been starting to get some various white pairs again. Seriously started to pay more interest in supes collecting wise only a couple of years ago and have since sloooowly been building up the collection with a 0-4 pairs a month on average, sometimes more, sometimes less depending what i come across.

Pair of noikes I had fell apart far earlier than they should've and I swore I'd never buy another pair as long as I lived.
Bought a pair of Superstars and never looked back.
White with navy stripes if I remember rightly but they might'v been black.
Mid to late 80s as best as I can recall.

To turn this around a bit, at what age do you think you will stop wearing them and start wearing brogues or some other such old mans attire, will be funny being an old bloke wearing supes with fat laces
all day i dream and shine.

My first pair was black with white stripes.
Classic! I was a kid (not sure the age but I was probably 15 or 16) and had a pair of Vans slip ons with a tropical scene on them. They gave me blisters and my mom went out to buy me a new pair of shoes. She got me the Superstars because the sales guy said they were durable and comfy. They were also black so she figured they wouldn't look so dirty when I wore them to church in sundays.

1987, I remember it well as I'd been after a pair for years already by that point. My Dad was working in German a lot at the time and after months of pestering he finally came home one weekend with a pair of "Made In France" white SS1's with black stripes. That were slightly too small but I couldn't have been happier. Second pair came about 18 months later when I scored a wht/red pair in Amsterdam.

Mmmh year 2000 needed / was told had to wear black or all white shoes for nurse training. Really liked supes after seeing such bands as Korn and Run DMC wear em etc. Decided the lesbian white flats the older nurses wore where not going to be rocked on my young ass feet. So i got a white SS2 with silver stripes n eyelets. Wore them till stones came thru the sole and the sold started to come away. Then they went sadly to heaven.
