I don't smoke personally but don't have a problem with it at all.
I like the view of enjoyment over however "baked" (or whatever the kids are saying these days) you get. I take that attitude with drinking. I just don't see the attraction of necking 12 pints of Stella just to get hammered. I'd sooner drink less better quality beers or a couple drams of a fine malt. And remember enjoying them.
Or I might just be getting old.

But I dont like or agree to the use of the above. But I just ask for respect of my oppinion and what anyone else wants to get upto in their own life is fine and if thats there choice to smoke what ever go ahead. I think this thread may get contraversial so i bow out now.

Take part Sab.
I'd like to try and talk your opinion round even though I barely smoke anymore.
I used to help someone with MS get hold of it and a couple of people with Aids.
Helped them all no end by reducing the effects of both the diseases and the drugs and building them an appetite.
Besides all that, nearly as many people smoke as drink yet what damage does drink do ?
It's only illegal cos it's fucking simple to grow and the government would raise no taxes on it !
I am with you pure. I started to support this in my teens. No pun. Seriously. I had a friend my age with cancer. The pills the gave him made him sick. He would loose weight and get sicker cause he couldn't hold food down with the pills. His family couldn't watch any more. They went to their doctor. The doctor, who had never prescribed marijuana in all his years saw what was occurring and asked if they would like to try this controversial alternative treatment.... Smoking pot. Obviously there are pills and edibles too, but the smoking is best for the nausea.
Long story short. My friend lived for two more years with a healthy weight, much less pain, etc before the cancer won. This is thanks to that smart doctor who did all he could when there was no other option. He added 2 extra years on this young mans life....
Off of that solemn note.

I did a wee bit of 'Erb at uni but I don't smoke so I sounded like a 40 a day man the following day.
I did do a water bubbly bong type thing with some nubile college freshman girls when i finished coaching Soccer ball in US back in the day. That was fun.
The gigglyness is a good laugh, but seeing my mates zonked out in Amsterdam and then throw up (silly sausages had gone for the strongest) wasn't so fun. Cafe owner made them clear the mess up as well.
Fair play if people need it for MS, AIDS etc. With governments, it's all down to money.
Props to ya Big J am gettin' old as well, would prefer a fine glass of bourbon nowadays.
fc likes a nice cup of tea and a sit down as well

I'm definitely getting older.

I read in a newspaper that even after just one spliff the stuff could damage you mentally. I tried the stuff once, but weirdly had no effect. Ill probably end up doing it alot more in the future tho.
But I do find all this mental health damaging quite frightening. Might put me off.

Same can be said for drink though fella.
Very few people get stoned and then go out and beat people up but that happens all the fucking time with alcohol !
I'd have said that was a fairly major mental health side effect.

Patently false.
There is simply no evidence of permanent brain damage due to marijuana use. That according to gov't studies. You can't overdose from weed it's impossible. You don't take one more hit than normal and decide to go beat on people like alcohol. Is not phisically addictive etc.
Not that I'm saying everone should partake. I don't care either way. It's called freedom of choice.
These kicks need their own theme music.

Smoke it. Unless you're already a bit "semi-detached" as it will make you into a full on paranoid mentalist.
