Anyone ever notice death almost seemingly happens in three's??? At least in the celebrity world....Ed McMahon from the Tonight Show on Monday, MJ and Farrah both yesterday...quite a week

You all know where i stand, made my feelings known last night in the 'MJ 02 concert' thread.
The way i see it, alot of people have formed their opinion on him based on unproved allegations. Stuff which we will never know the truth about. But the one thing that we can prove is his musical legacy.
If we focus on the facts, the only thing we know for defitine is that as a musician/entertainer he was genius.
I am still stunned by the news. MJ R.I.P.

Would you be good enough to participate in this morning's edification?

I think my wife summed it up this morning. She said that MJ was to music what Einstein was to science, she also said that he was like the Weird Big Brother that left home before you were born but was always in your life.
RIP MJ your music was an inspiration. I think we can forgive your eccentricities because those with genius also tend to be a little strange.

Sense of humour to RIP thread. Stat !
He's been largely irrelevant for bloody nearly 20 years and weird for almost all of 'em.
Half of you weren't even born when Thriller came out !

I just heard about it yesterday night and said 'Michael Jackson's died, has he now?' But then I found it was true and was proper shocked. Couldn't believe it.
I started listening to him years an years ago but only cos a relative of mine was really into his music, he could do the dance moves an everythin. He tort me how to do the moonwalk. An I could do the moonwalk in primary school!
Even when his court trials were on I believed he was innocent.
I knew once he died everyone would be doin tribute shows on the TV, radio everywhere, and now theyre doin exactly that. Shame they couldnt have celebrated his life while he was still alive.

I think he definitely had some of the most devoted and utterly fanatical fans of any pop star, I've known a couple of seemingly "normal" people who were insane for Jacko, to the extent of giving up jobs and following him on tour and that kind of caper. He certainly was an icon of 20th century pop music, probably even more so now he's died. Whatever your opinion of the man and the artist it's another marker of time passing on - everyone who was around then remembers when the Thriller video was first on the tele or the explaination that bad meant good on Newsround.
I personally remember being absolutely blown away by the Motown 25 show as a kid, when he was incredible. In fact what a show, Marvin Gaye too, must be on dvd?
I was a bit shocked when I heard about it this morning, gonna play the kids a bit of Jackson 5 to remember him by next week.

Black or White, off Dangerous, is good for musical chairs.
(seriously it is, lest I seem flippant - a good message for the wee uns too)

You mentioned his relevance in the last 20 yrs...go look at record, merchandise, single, album, tour sales of his material in the last 20yrs!!they speak for themselfs
His impact on music in the last 20yrs you only have to look at artists like neyo, justin timberlake, timbaland, usher, rihanna, chris brown, beyonce etc etc etc thats his impact and he'll nodoubt impact many many artists of the future to follow.
His music is practically a soundtrack to most peoples lives
AS for what he's done since bad well i loved the dangerous album and history album and both concerts were massive sellouts with both albums selling more copies than most artists sell can ever dream of selling and grossed millions of dollar worldwide. But ofcourse compared to thriller which is still the biggest selling album of alltime they were viewed as a failure 150million copies is hard to eclipse.
But like i said checkout his sales figures your probably right pure thats fook all of a contribution really
