The reason I think graff tattoos (wildstyle especially) ain't a good idea is that if your style is constantly changing and evolving and you keep upping your game then a tattoo that's stretching your ability at the time won't be representative of you even 6 months from now, let alone 5, 10 years. Maybe it's just me having seen shitloads of crappy graff tattoos but if you love it so much you want to get a, you probably love it enough to keep enhancing your ability and so by the time the inks dried, your itching to try something new.
I dunno, to me, the whole game is about change and evolution and getting some ink done is only going to serve to show how far you've come from where you were. There's just no way it can represent your abilities in the way your actual work can (through time, at least). If I'm 60 and want to remember how good I was "back in the day" I'd want to remember the best work I did, not some tag I did back when I didn't know this or that or whatever. Unless your at the peak of your game, I just can't see it myself.

I'm going to Miami in about 3 weeks, and we're gonna be staying just a few blocks down the road from Miami Ink (assuming most of you have seen the show!) If I can get an appointment and they're not too expensive, i am getting inked there. If they charge to much for the design I have, then i'll probably just get something small anyway. Was thinking about the trefoil on the inside of my forearm.
Tats are for life, but I think it's stupid not to get one just because you worry what it will look like when you're 60. Who's to say you'll live that long! and if you do, you can look at the tat and think "at least I got this done when I wanted to". No regrets people, live for the now!
