Hey Dirty,
As everyone seems resigned to be in agreement on, priorities take a back seat to no one...when it boils down to it, you gotta do what you gotta do - nothings more important than ones health, which is effected by alot, depending on that individual - in your case, stress from financial constraints, school, housing, @sshole roomies, etc...many of us feel/felt these same pains so you get nodding heads here...put it this way, if it came down to eating, would you starve or keep em? Eating is a staple, just like sleeping, health, well-being.
Use Anth? as an example - or was that some other member...keep a VERY select handful and put to use the others to help yourself out - best win-win situation in my book...

Okay dirty hopefully this will help alittle.Nearly 3yrs ago i was with a partner who's little gurl got cancer, although not mine and given the severity of the situation i decided to sell my superstars to get funds to pay for medical stuff and take her to disneyland (20+ pairs of 35ths+ all manner of now deadstock) so i sold em!!End of the day m8 there just shoes when it boils down to it.I too have sold afew pairs recently so i'd go through your collection if i was you see what you can live without and what u can't and estimate if getting rid of those will give you enough money that you don't have to sell the pairs you really don't think you'd be able to pickup again.
There's pairs i've still not been able to replace but i own more soops now than i did then so its not all doom and gloom m8 and to be honest i've had more fun recollecting them again than i did the 1st time.
P.S also nows not the best time to be selling up due to every1 been in the same situation finacially!!times are not good so getting what some of your pairs will be worth might be tough.
Hope that helps alittle and shows you that you can rebuild a collection again.
BEST OF LUCK M8 EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON EVEN IF WE DON'T UNDERSTAND IT AT THE TIME ONE DAY IT'LL MAKE SENSE.
It's not the size of the feet!!it's the amount of quality on em

At the end of the day its just a pair of trainers (ducks for cover)
They dont put food on your table or a roof over your head.
Recently i sold 4 or 5 pairs of shoes to pay for a new soundcard and, sound monitors for my computer. I had my eye on them for a while, but was wondering how to pay for them. I swung around on my chair and my trainer cupboard was lying open. Right away i counted 5 pairs of trainers I hadn't worn in over a year, had no intentions of wearing them in the near future and they were ones that i knew I could get rid off quite easily.
I know its a million miles from your situation, but what i'm trying to say is, each pair of your trainers is money, money that at this present moment you need.
As Streak said, it's all about priorities. No use being miserable if you have an end to the misery in a shoebox.

If you have non-essential pairs, sell 'em. If what you have means a lot to you, try and think of an alternative way to make a raise.
You said you need cash to tide you over rather then for the long-haul, can't you cut some corners and live somewhat grimey for a bit, or is that not an option?
I wouldn't sell things I considered 'treasured' unless it was an absolute last resort, is that where you feel you're at with your situation?

Life is too short to spend time unhappy fella, especially when you have a means to get out of jail. Just to give you a similar situation, I have a rather large record collection which used to be rather larger, I vowed there was no way in the world I would ever part with any of it. But when I found myself in a difficult situation it was something I couldn't justify not doing, took me 25 years to build that collection and about 60 days to nearly half it. Thing is although it was hard at the time a few years on I don't even know why it was so hard because they were just pieces of vinyl at the end of the day. I'm in a good place and life is great and if that is what selling a few kicks will bring lets face it, its no contest.
Just a suggestion but if you do decide to part with the little guys, I took some nice shots of some of my faves and had them blown up and framed. They now hang on the wall, it kind of made me feel better turning them from one form of art to another.

Wow guys, some serious wisdom to be had there! I agree with what alot of you have to say, soops are a fantastic thing to have but when push comes to shove they arent an absolute neccesity. I found out today that there might be an oppertunity for me to make a decent sum of money near the end of the month so Im going to keep up the fight until then and see what happens. I might take Spites advice and post up what all I would sell to get an idea of just how much I could make off of them (if it came down to selling em) but at this point i think i might be able to hold on to what I got. Thanks everybody for all the concern and wisdom, you all are what makes this place so great!

If you need the cash just sell em dude, I've sold pairs in the past to raise funds, they are just trainers as scratch says - Even the very rarest of the rare will come around again eventually
Wishing it was like the old days again

I know this thread is a bit old now but I just wanted to echo what everybody else is saying on here, you can get by without loads of trainers sitting in the boxes in the corner of the room.
However the ass has fallen out of the trainer market the same as it has everything else at the moment so I would suggest selling a Kidney or some thing of that nature, human body parts will always be worth big bucks (until we start cloning people!!). What about sperm donation? I read that there had been a big drop off in doner's in the UK as we have changed the law about the kid finding out about it's "parents".
Remember we'll always be here for you Dirty, good luck mate.

Do sperm donors have to pay child support or do the "fathers" just not want to be tracked down?
