Chilis update?
#11

Ahhhhhhh the day has come!

A parcel arrived this morning, I promptly signed for it (while the dog was barking at the poor postman and licking his hands.. thankfully he liked dogs!) and brought it inside, with my fingers crossed.

alas I opened it and it looks like some people have lost some fingers, as I don't think they were being crossed lol. These are almost gurantee'd fake. Sad
Heres some pics, not that good, but pics none-the-less.

Are chilis supposed to be black with orange/reddy stripes or an off black/grey with red stripes?
These are the latter.
Needless to say, i'll be saying to my Auntie, thanks! But you bought fakes.
I'm in the process of trying to find out who she got them from, so i'll update you with that when I know.
Who knows the easiest and fastest way for her to get her money back?
What will ebay/paypal be needing from me so I can have it ready to hand so the process(at least on my end) is as fast as possible.

Here follows the eye bleeding pictures Sad The part with the serial number(which are different, by 3 digits on the end) looks really badly attached, it has an indent under it, the pic kinda shows it on one of them, but both have it.

Supposed to be off black/grey with red stripes.

The tell-tale is the back USUALLY, these are smooth, no nipples. Varied serial numbers (seen them on the bape fakes) and the tongues look a bit shabby. Box label is well pissed. All in all I would say fake but a damn convincing one at that!

PM a Specialist but I would be 99% sure fake. Shame that coz they my size too!

Take it to the majority for their feedback.

I'm size 9-10.5 usually and these are a rather tight fitting 11!!! Yet I can get my feet into my brothers R5's size9!! So these are a rather small size 11 I must say.
I'd like to keep these 'cos I kinda like 'em, but i'd rather my auntie got her money back and I want some black supes ;D So on a quest for dark horse or any other black/red combinations now.

If they are fakes then they are getting much harder to spot. No heel nipple, tags on the inside of the shoe :S

I'd still say they are fakes though unfortunately. Label is wonky as hell on the box and the soles are all yellow (should be a lot clearer). And of course, the slightly off fitting Laughing

The fakes sizing is often wrong, I think they just make one size shoe and label it differently!

The most obvious way to spot them is check the extra laces, they should be packed tightly. Also the sole image should be clearer.

If you're looking for R3 / Dark Horse, I have 1 pair left in a 10.....

Yea, well the laces and soles are what lead me to believe they're fakes. Soles are yellowy and the pictures aren't clear, it could be Jack Black and George Bush on one of the shoes.
The laces are kinda loose in the pack, it isn't too bad, but not as compact as I would expect them to be. The insoles seem loose and tacky too.

Yeah, insoles are another giveaway. Check the lining on the inside and see if it's cut to fit the stitching or if there is a bit of spare fabric too. Those were the only things that set some Project Playgrounds I bought apart from the real thing (well, except for tags)

I would say the fact that the date on the tounges is 12/06 would point out they were fake...

Bad luck fella you should be able to get your aunts money back just find out who she got them from and then contact them and tell them they are fake.

Three stripes is the only way unless its a red one

I agree Reido...fakes are DEF harder to spot...it was the label and murky soles for me that was convincing, otherwise I can see many who would flock to these...even though it was a steal of a price, what about the fakes that are sold at true value? There are those out there who can/have pulled these off (has me thinking about the Underworlds I recently purchased - figured these ones would def be hard to fake, given the 3M, scattered lyrics on the shoe, etc...).

Underworld fakes are still pretty crap from what I've seen so shouldn't be too hard to figure out
