I have recently bought a pair of the embossed super ape stars and the camo super ape stars from China. Now before you all start I knew these had to be fake by the price/location etc before buying them, but fancied a dabble anyway. However, when they arrived I realised that the referece site (geocities) for fake super ape stars is seriously out of date with regards to the new fakes out there.
1. Both pairs came with all four pairs of laces with the plain white ones on the shoes out the box.
2. The ape key chain was attached with a metal chain not fishing wire to the outside of the right shoe.
3. The paper in the box is almost like plastic (but matches the pictures of the suede super ape stars in their box on the geocities reference site.)
4. The tongue colour is consistent and the bathing ape logo is printed with black ink on both shoes.
5. The heel tabs are proportional.
6. There are different serial numbers in each shoe.
7. The camo print is very close to original colours (unlike the ones on the geocities site)
Therefore, in my opinion, the information on that site is now redundant. Things that I have noticed about my shoes which don't quite check out:
1. They come from China, in a variety of sizes (including UK half sizes) and cost £40 shipped to UK (although if buying them from a UK seller off ebay this wont be a give away!)
2. The camo print on the innersole of the shoe looks overly green and the bape heads don't quite look right (although this is difficult to verify without clear pictures of the authentic innersoles)
3. The ape key chain is attached to the top most lace on the right shoe rather than through the eyelet (although any self respecting con man could easily do this himself)
4. I can't really fault the white embossed ones on any other level.
5. The camo print on the camo ape stars does not have any clear bape heads within it.
6. The material on the camo ones is canvas (like the g5's) not the softer material that you see on close ups of the authentic ones.

I hope people find this info useful, I have seen the same shoes that I bought going for a pretty penny on ebay and these people could be getting stung because according to the geocities site their shoes check out. I have also posted some pics (sorry not fresh out the box - I have worn them) I can post more pics if people need them, but only have a phone camera.

Thanks for the references Lozza24, shame you had to burn nearly £100 to give us this tho'. The whole fakers thing has become very sophisticated and the White Embossed are very close to the legit. The camos are shite, full stop! The print, the 1 of 500 is pissed (smudged) and the font isnt quite right.

The heel nipple thing wont count on these coz the legits have them too..... I have the legit Super Ape Skates and the fakes are v v v close, but not quite right again. The black 'Respect is Mutual' disc is fuzzy on the white print too!

lozza, you are saying that material used in fakes in diffrent than in real ones. i assume then that you own a legit pair as well? same thing goes with shade of green - it all depends on lighting. look at PYS - their colors are completly diffrent.

I know what you mean Pokey, they are my favourites colourway by a mile. Anyone fancy leaving them to me in their will? I promise I'd give em a good home. It's the only way I'd ever get my hands on a legit pair

They come up from time to time, CT have sum if you got a spare £1500. Good reference guide for the new batch dude, sellers to watch for are solionkk (The Sports Departmient), kawai0114 and look4mary. Bizarrely they are the same person, a dude called Perry Leung. Emailled him several times to check their legit status (knowing of course they fake), same email address.........

Check the pattern on the fake camo pair - there isn't a single ape head anywhere.

Is this what you're after Streak? You can see the print on the innersole is already coming off the white ones, but do you agree the bape heads look wrong? You can see that the 1 of 500 is wonky aswell.

The reversed adidas on the innersoles, lesser heel nipple, red qc13 sticker! these fuckers are getting good, still wouldnt touch a pair but they are putting so much into these..........Nightmare!!!

I wish Sin' pl if only i had the real deal aswell. I only said this because on close ups of legit ones the material looks different, I could be wrong because when not maximised the photos of mine almost look the same. It's difficult to explain, but on the fakes on close up the material almost has a dot effect, whereas the legit ones seem to have a different weave in the fabric which runs in lines instead of dots It also looks softer.

i'm not saying that you are wrong, but that it can't be a ideal indificator like heel tags in 35th.
according to innersole - this is completly 'normal'. it's just limited superstar edition, i don't think they have put more time in making them. my insole print in top ten (legit pair for sure) was gone after 2 days!
i saw fakes with bapehead in camo pattern as well, so it's all random (like in boston/tokyo/london 35th - they are not in same place on every pair).

i think that the real indicator will be receipt from shop - everyone who owns legit pair will have it for sure, as it wasn't a pair on sale for 40$.

I think it's only a matter of time before they get them exactly right, in fact, they probably have already just that people think they're legit. I reckon alot of the star wars consortiums from China are faked aswell.
