been djing for 15 years , started on shit belt drive decks and awful mixers , bought 12" records now have thousands ,
really pisses me off with all these new breed djs who dont buy a single slab of vinyl just download the music and call themselves djs cos they can mix on a cd deck that pretty much does the work for em , where i live all the old guard of djs dont have any work any more as all these new kids with there cd wallets dj for cheaper and longer than we would , dont get me wrong cd dex are a great tool to use but its just handed to the kids now on a plate they dont have to go round record stores looking for the vinyl to play and put any effort into doing a good set , dance music and djing is dying a death because of this !!!

Ok, so I guess I should have a round for some records, than try to get some used or older hardware? And than see how does it work for me? And what should I get for myself for the begining?

I think it's best if you try using turntables before buying - maybe find a friend or DJ tutor etc. It's a lot of money to spend if you dont use them.

I don't really think CD DJing is a problem at all. For EDM it's been used for many years. Now because of online music shops it's easier and cheaper to get the music you want. I don't think that you can say the result is DJs that are less good....
For the record, I have both TTs and CD-players...

i dont have a problem with cd dex as i do use both as its opart of the bizznizz i have a problem with young kids using there mp3 collection that they probably downloaded illigally stealing work from djs that have put the effort into finding that obscure track in some dingy record shop , look at all the djs working in bars at the moment , they buy a now thats what i call dance music triple pack cd and do a set just off of that , playing records is not what being a dj is all about its about the love of the music , its about hearing a track that makes you tingle when you hear it for the first time ,
look at the influx of celeb and band member djs that are appearing like peaches geldof , kate lawler , russell lisack (block party) kenzie (big brother) i could go on for ages they are doing it as they think its cool , not because they really love the music that they play and to be honset most of em are total gash , but the people still go and see this shit !!! house nights that brand there nights as "sexy , stylish , fashionable " instead of just putyting djs down trhey put what they should be wearing and shit look at the hed kandi brand for what im talking about total gash
any way off my soap box lol
