Loving the pats, both of them really. Wasn't aware the '97s actually have so many little differences to the '03s but now I know better.
All the clear boxes I've seen available in different shops are of the exact same thickness and structure so i doubt sk8's boxes will take any more than Lurky's so anything above 12 boxes in a single pile should collapse it. Feel free to prove me wrong sk8!

Nope, not the same boxes. I have boxes from two different manufacturers. However, i´m too lazy to fold every 20 shoe boxes. Maybe tomorrow.
Here´s a stacking pic. but only 18 boxes - the room isn´t high enough.
but it´s much safer stacking than with the original boxes.

This brings me to an idea. Let's do the test...
Test failed.
But no box is broken.

Haha! So there are differences between these boxes after all.. i have asked around many shops over the past few weeks and all have said 10-12 boxes is the most you can safely pile up. I guess the focus is on "safely" as in you should be able to remove shoes from the bottom boxes without the pile collapsing.

After the test, i´m no longer a friend of stacking without shelving. The best is all the boxes on the shelf. Then it will work even with the safe storing of your shoes.

Yep seen those boxes or similar ones many times but they aren't the type of boxes the lot of us are mainly looking for. They are standard boxes with lids which means if you want a pair from the bottom of the pile, you need to tear down the whole pile before you can get to that pair while with the other boxes you can get to the bottom pair by opening just one end of the box without taking it out of the pile, should be able to do that anyway, no matter where the box is located in the pile. A whole another thing is, how many of those opening boxes can you actually keep piled up on top of each other if used on a daily basis. 5? 8? 12? 2? And how durable they are.
