i recon with a bit of tweaking, the superstar and the lace writing could be the one!!!
but the writing needs to be a bit more clearer..
even if they look more like letters, but are joined up and just have the lace ends?
if that makes sence?
I need more lemon pledge...

to be honest, of my designs, I like the one I did, before I tweaked it for pure, the most. I have played wth a loop on the B but I didn't like the results.
as far as losing the superstar, or losing the text goes - I see them as two different assets, that could be used in conjunction, but also separately, so where it calls for just the shoe, or just the text, that's all you use. The lace and the superstar shouldn't be one, ever.
clearer text - I don't think this needs to happen either. SSDB only has significance to someone who knows what the site is anyway. In my opinion, logos don't have to be easy to read, because a logo is mostly a graphic thing, it is recognised from the forms, rather than what it says. If the logo was made clearer than it will look just like letters with aglets, rather than letters made from a lace.
so that's it from me. I don't think I'll be making many, if any more changes to the design
also... I kinda put the ninja turtle thing on there as a joke, I never ever thought it was going to be the SSDB mascot, i was just doodling...

I'm not really that worried, it's just something I come across heaps as a designer (I design shops). The initial concept is good, and a little development goes into to make it better, but then the development gets out of hand and it starts to get worse as it gets overworked. I'm just stoked you guys like it
I don't get to do logo design much, but I quite enjoy it

I love it too fella I just thought we could graffiti up the letters a nadge and change the B a bit.
Admittedly it is for us to know what it is but nothing would more annoying than people constantly saying "What's SSD3 ?" whilst bopping around trainerville in London.
