I just read on wikipedia that Michael Jordan was more interested in adidas than Nike, but adidas offered him a lesser deal.

So he ended up going with Nike.

He didn't even like the first Air Jordan's, and said that they looked like "Devil's shoes".

They were even banned by the NBA.
