I posted the name of a seller on ebay which is no different than listing a store with shoes for sale. I didnt post a specific link. Just promoted some window shopping I think that I am ok with this post, but thanks for the reminder

Sorry if it was me Rob.. the thread title and the use/practise is confusing. Some clarity would be good on what everyone thinks about it now?

as a relative newcomer to the forums I always read this thread as somewhere to point out supes online but not on Ebay as I could see how gutting it would be if you were the only watcher on a pair of supes that you really wanted then all of a sudden there's 4 or 5 from here looking at them that otherwise wouldnt have bothered.
I guess the clue is really in the title.

I'd say that every supe which is easy to find doesn't needs a heads up. You know, everything with superstar/superstars in the title of the auction. No matter where they are listed (uk,us,germany, france etc.). Then there are those auctions without superstar/superstars in the title. Dunno about them. I'm often tempted to give a heads up ... but then again the title says no live auctions. And then there are those other ebay sites which are different and only for the local market (in germany its "ebay kleinanzeigen"). Dunno about them.

I agree with what has been said. I too thought online sellers and BIN were the only ones allowed. However, I've seen a few live auctions on here recently so I thought rules had been loosened. I genuinely wanted someone on here to have a stab at the two pats I posted earlier. Well, it turned out someone already watched the green ones, so I would apreciate if the last one I told could find it in his heart to resist bidding on the greens. I've seen the subject discussed before and everyone has their own opinion on bidding against another member. So far Sneaker52 is the only one who showed interest in the blue ones. In the future I will not forward any live auctions. I found myself in the same position with the 93 Pro Mods the other day, so I should have known better. Over and out

Ok fellas.. apologies for my contributions. Don't think anyone was out of pocket on those, but will certainly stick to the title!
If I can remember your size and have time I'll send you a PM instead.

I didn't mean you in particular. And like I said before, no auction I was watching is mentioned here . I was speaking in general.
If the moderators have changed their policy, no problem.

No auction links, no eBay names, nothing that gives up our hard work to lurkers.
Clear?

Whewwwww, that's a pretty stiff guideline. Yup, it's clear for sure. But as I scrolled back through pages of this thread to see how others had posted "heads up" replies, there's plenty of instances of "UK8.5 35th Perfed on the bay" or "PM me about BAPEs on the bay" etc etc etc. So even on these posts, there's no links, no mention of ebay names, but definitely leading statements that there's something of interest on the 'bay for someone willing to search every country's ebay site to find that shoe. Ok. I got it. I rarely post on this thread anyway, so it figures when I do I violate a rule that had become lax over the past months. So, "heads up" for sales at stores and online codes and then it's first come first serve on the remaining stock! I understand the "lurker" consideration. I saw my post as a positive thing to point someone in the direction of some pretty cool stuff that of course I wasn't lurking to purchase. Oh well.

Non rocket related science right there^.
It was decided years ago that on matters of rarity, fuck it, deepest pocket wins.
You want to make a pact with another seller over a certain pair, go right ahead but childish shit like "I saw them first" is best left behind in the playground at the age of 10.
You can't "first dibs" a pair when Johnny Drag Knuckles has been after them since before you even knew you just had to have every pair of Superstars that ever existed even though you had a wardrobe full of noikes.
If you know of a deal, post the details of the shoe and the sizes or whatever and ask for pms.
Yes, it can be a ballache but karma can be a hottie as well as a bitch.
Lurkers deserve fuck all cos they contribute fuck all.
Make sure that's all you give them!
