Woody, i did manage to get my 360 repaired for free in the end because Microsoft finally acknowledged that there was a fatal flaw in the 360, so i saved £85 which made me happy!
Bioshock is very good but is only a single player, theres no On-Line which put a few people off.
If you want On-line fun i would suggest Battlefield II or Halo 2, especially as Halo 3 is about to drop and it would bring you up to speed on how it works and runs etc.
Crackdown is a good game to and i love Splinter Cell, and Rainbow Six Vegas if you like shootin' bad men! Also theres Oblivion which is a massive game and very addictive. Some of the older games are still better than the newer ones in my opinion! Let us know what you try out!

Aah good man, glad you got it sorted out in the end, they were having a laugh charging £85 to fix what is clearly a massive hardware fault!
Not got Xbox Live yet as I can't find out how it actually works anywhere, I'm thinking you have to buy a router? That's gonna be expensive! Is it a case of just buy a router and plug the xbox into it and then buy the package and it works?
I've got the Splinter Cell games on the Xbox and I love em so I'll pick up the double agent one for sure, the graphics always looked amazing even on the Xbox so I can see it looking spot on with a 360. What type of game is oblivion? I'll have to egt to Game and get some pre-owned cheapness!

Which type of Internet connection have you got Woody?
Getting hooked up to Live should be easy but i know some ISP's work better than others and it is nearly always down to the model of the Router.

Broadband with BT at the moment, not sure on the speed, half a meg I think?
So you need the cable to plug the xbox into the router, the router obviously and then you just plug the phone line into the router yeah?
I've never been too hot with networking and all that

Well your in luck as i am partly a Network engineer!
So you have ADSL then thats a shame but it will still work ok, Is your modem/router a BT Voyager by any chance? If so that also may be a problem as there were some compatibilty issues with the Voyagers unless BT have sorted this?
Your speed will not make any difference to the gaming despite what people claim. I was on a 512 package when Broadband first started and i played live on the old Xbox without a problem.
All i did if my memory serves me correctly is connect my modem/router to the console with a Cat5 cable and bingo that was about it, i do hear of many people who have had prolems with Mac codes and other Config problems but each time i have set it up it has worked without any problems. Xbox support lines are pretty helpful. If you need to get a router make sure it is capable of being a gaming router, many are not and it pays to do your homework. I think Microsoft had recommended routers on their website not that long ago?

ADSL yeah that's it - The modem is just a little silver thing a bit bigger than a computer mouse.
I'll have a look at routers, get paid this week so I might have to invest!
Cheers mate!

No probs Woody! The router i had which worked really well was a Zoom router and was about £40 and never let me down and i would imagine may be even cheaper now? Good luck fella!
If you do get on-line my gamertag is Sooper!! Nice and easy!

Yes i am on Live and have been since the original Xbox, i was fortunate enough to be a Beta tester so i got the Gamertag that i wanted! I would expect that Woody will have long gone but you can add numbers or try to incorporate symbols etc in place of letters or just choose something else ?
Start thinkng!!

So how does that affect the gamertag I've set up on my 360 already? Will it just ask me to change it when I sign up for xbox live and then it'll permanently be whatever I change it to?
Sorry for all the daft questions!

Im not sure! When you say that you have set up your 360 already i assume you mean you have given the console a profile name for you? I dont think that will let you have that as a registered gamertag unless you have done this set up via the Internet on the 360 site?
I cant be too sure but as soon as you go live all will be revealed!
I have just looked up and there is a Woody but whether it is you i cant tell!
Had to remove a link as it wouldnt work cos of a sign on that was needed!
