OK, here's the deal. I've been offered a pair of Adi Dasslers (haven't paid yet) for 50 Euro. The price in unbelievably cheap, I know, but the seller claims he got the shoes from someone who works for Adidas as a present, but they're too big for him (typical fake story too, I know) but since they didn't cost him anything he just wants a little money for them.

However, they do look good regarding materials (for instance they don't have the 'heel clit') and also they're a size US 11.5 and I've never seen any consortium fakes in sizes bigger than a US 11. Also, as you can see from the pics, they have 'sample' written on the tongue label so I guess that could confirm that his story is true. He doesn't seem like a sneakerfreak either, so he might not know exactly what he's got. He didn't even mention they were samples and I only found out myself when I got the pics.

They also have different numbers on the 'tongue label' of each shoe (which I think is a good thing). Number on the left shoe is 2301060514003, right shoe is 2301060514005. I also got the measurement from heel to toe and it's the exact same as my other consortiums in same size.

They have 'adidas' written on the inside sole (facing the opposite directions as they should) instead of the 35th logo that real Dasslers have (and fakes too by the way) and they come in a plain adidas box instead of the 35th box. On the other hand they only have 7 lace holes instead of 8, but then again if they're samples that could explain that too. These are either some very good 'prototype' fakes or I could have hit the jackpot.

What do you guys think?

yeah I guess 50 EUR is a good price even if they're fake...LOL... at least I will have a good looking pair of kicks for gardening and painting.



and I've decided to buy them, even though there are odd signs, like 7 lace holes instead of 8, but at the same time I can't imagine why anyone would make fakes Dasslers with a 'wrong' print on the insoles, put 'sample' on the tongue label and do it with a size US 11.5 which is not the size most people are looking for? If the seller really wanted to fool someone why not ask for big bucks and make a special note that they're rare samples rather than not mentioning it at all?

Anyway, I'll keep you posted what I think once I've received these.

There are certain things you can take photos of that the real ones definitely have.
It's a strange size to make a sample in but either way 50 euros is allright.

yeah, samples are usually a size 9, right? I was wondering about that myself, but since the consortiums were the first vintage SS models made I guess they would need to make samples in all sizes?

I've got a pair of authentic Dasslers already and besides the fact that these samples only have 7 lace holes instead of 8 I can't really find anything that looks wrong. The assembly looks good, no heel clit, the materials used seem to be the same, the shoes have different 'numbers', they're laced 'the factory way' (easy to change, I know) and they are a size US 11.5 which I still haven't seen any fake consortiums made in.

Still, they could be fakes though...



... and I must admit the 7 lace holes thing is troubling me, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see when they arrive.

If you lay the shoes next to each other right foot with right foot and look at them side on from sole height you'll see, that on a fake pair, the toe comes into the sole at a much steeper angle.
Also the cut of the leather on the inside is more like two straight lines rather than a nice curve.
Confusing I know.

Thought this might be relevant, samples come in either 8 or 8.5. I have recently bought some straight from adidas.
They are for sale as well, if you know anyone interested in the samples or the other trainers I have for sale in the sale pages let me know. Appreciated.

Do they have "sample" printed/stamped inside under the ankle?

either way I can't find out until they arrive, they're in the mail now.

I still can't imagine why anyone would make fake samples in that size, but then again you never know... them fakers are crazy...

Yeah, I thought they were stamped somewhere.
And I know they should be 8.5's as usual but it's a slightly different situation
with them digging out the Vintage sole unit again.
Maybe they thought they out to make a full range of sizes to test out
everything was gonna be OK.
