So what did you get for Christmas this year? I've been with my old lady long enough that the past handful of years, ive supposedly been too hard to buy for, thus got majority gift cards (which i usually ended up giving away anyhow) and filler...
Thus year i got chocolate (which is always fine), hand cream ( WTF? I still have the other two from the past TWO years!), Steve Jobs bio (which i recall telling her i got it emailed to me a week after it came out, thus already read it), and finally the worst thing ever....a Lebron James dry-fit Noike T...really? A). I don't like the dude, B) i don't wear graphic pics of dudes on my Ts (normally like only logos, and/or minimal writing) C) it looks fcuking cheesy, like what some gang banger would wear!
I'd sooner have received nothing but a card...made me wonder if any thought went into these at all.....
Merry Christmas all!

indeed Niko and really Christmas isn't about what you get. I'm no religious person at all, but over recent years the commercialism of it all really pisses me off and I sometimes think back to the good old days when I was a nipper and you got a lot less at Christmas and appreciated what you did get.
That said, I would be pretty pissed if I ended up with a load of shit I didn't want as it is just a waste of money.
Thankfully I got an ipad 2 and the navy blue Footpatrol Campus 80's!!
lovin' me terrace footwear.

Very nice gifts Vern. And I have to agree with you about getting some things you really don't need. I have some persons in my friends/relatives who think that there need to be a present to everyone no matter what/how.
It really pisses me off. For example getting an electric kettle. WTF!!! I believe every house hold with electricity already has one, right? What the fuck should we do with two of them?
For me that is just stupid waste of time, money and most of all natural resources!!!

Oh i agree gents, its the thought that counts...that's my point, as per what Nik said: it's the thought that went into getting the gift...or lack of thought, that is...totally agree Vern re the commercialism aspect too...i appreciate effort and thought, not necessarily the actual gift...guess what i'm saying is that i'd rather have a nice card than a 'last minute rush into a store and purchase any old thing within reach' gift...

I don't know how long you've been with her Ken but that sucks donkey balls.
It's as if she doesn't know you at all or worse just plain couldn't be bothered.

Long enough G...thats just it...like suddenly Im not worth a few brain cells for a better effort....don't get me wrong i truly don t need much, and haven't for a number of years...of course what little I want I go out and get it on my own ( b/c no one else can get it for me, from a financial or resource perspective I.e. Special soup drops LOL)... But still, a little thought goes along way...
LOL all said items are still sitting in a pile on the floor, under the tree...the T is likely slated for cookie toss duty, the book a regift, and the hand cream to a female colleague in my cubicle pod space....

My mom (bless her heart) wasted money on a large trefoil hoody. Never been a large. No idea where she got it so I can't return it.

400lbs and fit can hardly be in same sentence.
