I'm with Pure 100% here.... I almost NEVER make comments in the Intro thread to new members, unless the intro is a good one and the person comes off as a true SUPERSTAR (not just adidas) lover/collector. I'm a collector and I'm here to discuss Superstars with fellow collectors, whether they have a big collection or are just starting out. I don't descriminate, but "Collector" is the key.

There are a lot of people who drop in and join for a quick single purpose, question or purchase (or 100 post sell) and don't contribute anything back. I won't waste my time with them and actually prefer they leave. JMO.

By the way, Am I the only one who notices that this douchebag's name is "Greedy Genius"?? I know they make more than shoes, but C'MON!? Why didn't he just name himself "Nike Air Lover"?

Fuck him.

We seem to have the cream of the crop already, if people really want to join, they should provide photographic evidence that they're actually interested in Superstars

i think intro threads are important. it's rare to get a good one, but when we do we tend to accept the person right away - I think The Marine is the most recent example

I would be down for not allowing noobs to start a thread for a short time period. Mos def not a post count, though...

ok, well the first thing i must say is that all you members who are hating, must have nothung to do in life. You say why dont a contribute more? well the simple answer is there isnt anything on this forum apart from a select few that i can contribute to as i don't know anything about superstars, even though i own a few pairs. That is why i ask the question you understand? i have tried to contribute on what i know and you will see that on my post. And another thing is that you say i ask a question and move off? but have i? im still looking on the forum daily, and looking at the new posts that i can contribute to but nothing interests me at all, and there isn't anything that i can contribute to because i dont dedicate me life to Adidas superstars, so no, i don't know everything about them.

Also, forums are on the internet for a reason. They are here to help people, and also to socialize. which is exactly what i came here to do. I wanted help, and it seems it is really hard to get it. And also you say that i should be ignored, well there are around 1500 users on this forum, how many are actually live? and how many actually post? most people probably left the forum because of the forum members with 100+ posts not accepting them, so all i can say is that if you dont make people feel welcome, then this forum will not go anywhere.

And about my intro post. Maybe i want to keep my occupation etc. private. Is it really neccessary to share more information on the forum than what the user wants to share?, because all i can see is that i can introduce my self by saying hi, and then create a thread up showing users that i have all of the adidas supes int he world, which wil ultimately lead to forum users licking my ass, and sorry for the bad language, but half the thing which are being said just doesnt make sense.

Your point is taken, but you have to also appreciate that we aren't the adidas superstar help desk and we aren't in the business of finding shoes for people. Asking questions like, 'what's the difference between superstar 1s and 2s, please post pics' shows that you obviously care fuck all about the forum because you can't be bothered to do a search.

If you spend some time on the forum you'll find the majority of users are an extremely helpful lot. You'll find that people will get to know you and start PMing you with stuff they find on ebay etc that you might be interested in. But you have to earn that respect.

Most of us don't care how many soops you have, just that you care about them. And if nothing people post interests you at all, maybe this isn't the place for you.

Personally, I found this the most welcoming forum community I've ever been a part of. If you aren't enjoying things here then you don't have to stay. If you want to understand what we look for in an introduction post - there is a sticky in the introductions forum. If you don't know much about superstars or know where to find brand new info on them, you can still contribute to the forum. Posting in the "What Soops I'm wearing" threa or the "look what the postie brung" thread are good examples of threads you can contribute to without a significant amount of knowledge on superstars.

When I came to the forum, I knew pretty much nothing about soops except that the pair I owned was fake. But by reading the threads, using the search function when I had a question and slowly contributing where I could, I was able to enhance my knowledge and thus the degree to which I could contribute. You don't go to a spanish class and then quit after the first day because you don't know any spanish.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that if you want to become a member of the forum and a part of this community then the option is there.
