Flat screen tvs are cool with the HQ image and all the possibilities with technology you can attach to them. They also take much less space than the old tube ones but they're still a loooooooong way from lasting a decade, maybe even two with very little problems like the best tube models did. Average lifespan of a flat screen tv these days is 2-5 years max and if it breaks, in most cases buying a new one will actually be cheaper, easier and especially faster than getting it fixed.

I need to believe that my flat screen is going to last forever cause it cost me a small fortune.

Z, Did you get my pm?
Just noticed there's a updated version on this colourway coming out for Q3'10 "white/aqua/yellow" basically the aqua and yellow have been flipped with an aqua sole and obviously some white thrown in, looks better imo, so might be worth holding out considering you already have FP's.

I just put my telly in the Finnish ebay type of site. I'm hoping to get around 1500€ even if it's a couple of years old, but there aren't that much 55" TV's around.

So why are you selling your telly? Is 55" too small for you or are you planning to go/have gone to projector+big screen? I have "only" a tiny 40" LCD.
