First things first - this website is brilliant. I'm a UK based susperstar fan - huge fan of the NBA and old skool hip hop. I have been looking through ebay tonight and have found some great looking Jam Master Jay JAM adidas superstar trainers in Black. They have a stenciled image of JMJ towards the rear of the shoe and the JAM acroynym underneath. I have checked the list on this site and the seller doesnt appear on the fake sellers list. Just wondered if these shoes were legit - would appreciate some help!!!

Not sure how much you want to know but.....
I own about 12 pairs of superstars and a couple of other pairs of adidas (one pair of ROM and a pair of Kareem Abdul Jabbar trainers). I've always been into them because of their history with the NBA and because of RUN DMC. I really want a pair of the 35th anniversary DMC kicks and a pair of the neighbourhood consortium, I am willing to pay the money but like most folk am bothered about the amount of fakes that appear to be doing the rounds. I'm from Birmingham and there are a few decent shops around that I keep visiting the hope of finding something.
The person selling the trainers in my original post is called jayeedee and the stars in question do look great and I would buy them but again I dont want get ripped off....thats why I'm looking for some advice.......

Welcome GhostFace, yeah you'll have no worries with Jayeedee.
My wife is from Brum and I'm heading there all the time to see family and friends, the only decent shop I've found is Size?, got any other shops you'd like to share with us?

Thanks for the welcome - yeah Size is the best by a mile to be honest, bought a great pair of Rom's from there last week, you might also want to check out the adidias store by the bullring, not the best but has the odd gem and then there is also Selfrdiges, again depends on the time but have seen the odd pair worthy of a look. If there is anywhere else I discover I will let you know.

Welcome! It's nice seeing such enthusiasm. I hope you are the type that sticks around.
I know I am going to raise some eye brows here but I never really understood the coolness of the Run DMC's...I mean yea they are nice, but what is so special other than the elastic band on the inside to wear without laces, and the little run dmc logo? I am probably all alone on this
When I was in Korea I saw some of the JMJ trainers, they are nice shoes. I hope you get them! Again, welcome!

Thanks Wazzucru, your reply really got me thinking - Not sure what others think but the whole run dmc/walk this way was massive on so many fronts - first hip hop act to cross over into the main stream and do it so cool!!!! It was also a great song and video and the start of a massive re ignition of the superstar brand. For me they just look right - do you know what i mean?? Anyway I got talking to someone today and told them about me thinking that they were the most iconic trainers ever and it started a very healthy debate......she argued that whilst they were cool they might not have been that iconic - she mentioned dunlop green flash (at which point I crumpled to floor laughing!!) but she put together such a good argument, it got me wondering!! I msy admit it was Nike (am i allowed to say that on here) Vandals that first got me into trainers and anything that His airness MJ wore was the ultimate!! What so folks think - the most iconic trainers ever???

Welcome along...I actually dislike Walk this way as a tune..altho' I like Run dmc, walk this way gets on my nerves slightly..please don't ask me to explain why, because I'm not too sure..king of rock and rock box does it for me..as for the trainers, white black is a classic colorway(prob THE classic colors),but of course you can get white/black without paying 35th prices.but what else were Run dmc gonna come up with..these sum them up nicely
