I think the northern thing is to say pants instead of trousers, must be just the 'youth' that say bottoms.....

Im northern and i never use the word pants, or bottoms for that matter,i use the words, jeans, shorts, combats, trousers etc, etc
oh hang on, tracksuit BOTTOMS, but i don't own any so the term rarely gets used!
all day i dream and shine.
