I thought this was kinda shitty,
Today, I found a pair of Superstars on eBay I am very interested in purchasing... provided I can verify the authenticity.
I reach out to the seller to ask for more photos, to ensure they are all good. I worded my inquiry in a very nice way and was specific in my request and the reason.
The seller followed up with me this evening with some photos and a Guarantee of authenticity. I checked the photos, I'm pleased... and this evening I go back to check the auction... and boom! The starting price for the auction is $50 higher than what it was this morning.
What the hell? I was surprised by this! I've never sold anything or listed anything on eBay.. but I was so surprised to see this.
As a business man and a person that takes a lot of pride in my work and my professionalism... I was pissed off!
Had to rant, but I'm curious to know if anyone else has ever had this happen to them?

Can't say i have koft!!but are they worth that extra $50???? maybe it'll come bk and smack the seller in the face for doing it anyways if your willing to risk it!!they might not sell so he then has to pay for them relisting @ the 1st price he listed them as and you pick them up anyways
only time will tell i suppose.

Don't think I've ever experienced something like that, but I remember a buyer doing something stupid (well, IMO anyway...LOL...):
Some time ago there was a pair of Unions on the bay with an opening bid of $400 and a BIN of $440. I wanted to make sure they were 100% legit and emailed back and forth with the seller (who was very helpful) and when I was convinced I was going to use the BIN only to find out someone had just placed a bid. The auction ended the day after so I thought f*ck and went for a last second bidding as I usually do. I wanted to make sure nobody else was going to win them and placed a bid higher than the $440 and won them (as nobody else bid), and found out the bid of the other guy was $439.99. I'm sure he felt home safe as the BIN was $440, but c'mon, why risk it if your max bid is $0.01 away from the BIN price anyway? I mean, I understand if he could have saved himself more than $40, but I'm fairly certain he wished he had used the BIN instead when he found out he lost the auction...

No never had that happen to me, watch them and like pokey says it might put a lot of people off buying them and end up not making him as much money!

i had similar situation.. i was 'asked' (that sounds poliete... FORCED!) to pay much more money after i won auction, otherwise seller wouldn't ship the item. i've mailed admin and he warned that guy.
i don't think you can do anything about this. maybe try asking him if he can low the price as before, otherwise you will buy shoes somewhere else.

So I sent a message back to the seller and thanked him for the photos. (They look 100% legit by the way) and asked him why he raised the opening bid. I let him know that he raised them up out of the range of what I'm willing and able to pay for them... which is true. I'm just not going to drop that kind of cash on the shoes.
We'll see if I get a reply back.
In retrospect, I shouldn't have mentioned that I'm an adidas collector in my original inquiry. All he has to do is go to my buying history and see all the superstars i've bought. bastard!
