Well I see your point SK, but you mean the brown ones? Anyway it's intentional.
The holes (the "stripes") on the side are padded with white so I want to match them with my socks.

Otherwise my sock rule is:
Light insole/inside - White socks
Dark insole/inside - Black socks

Been warm and sunny all day so as promised, the red vin smiths for me today. Funnily the footstool was by far the only somewhat tidy spot at my place so took the pic there. Laughing
