35th Anniversary Disney/Goofy pair. One genuine and one fake?! -
christoh - 04-09-13
Hey everyone, I bought this pair on eBay a while back. They both lack the heel tags and both the same size. They arrived in the same box, I checked one and it seemed genuine, so I didn't bother giving the other one a look. They're a tad too small for me, and I recently just dug them out of the wardrobe and discovered that one of them looks fake? It just doesn't seem as crisp in detail etc.
Why would the seller do this? Any advice regarding authenticity would be good.

holy @#$% breakthrough find, mate. I had only even bothered to look at one shoe of the seemingly "legit" goofy pairs I acquired. Just analyzed and compared them side by side as you did and they certainly look very similar to yours. The print on goofy on the left shoe seems a bit sloppier in comparison with the right one. I also noticed on the right pair (the one with the sharper/crisper goofy detailing) has a SLIGHT hint of orange print overcoloring under the G and O. However, this does not seem to be the case with the bolder/less sharp left pair. The O on that shoe is filled in perfectly with no oversmudged print, if that makes sense. I can't really tell from your picture, is this the same case with yours? Seems like your shoe on the right is perfectly detailed, too hard to tell though.
Are the serial numbers on the inside differing in yours? My left pair ends in 76 while my right one in 71. I too, would like some insight from someone with the knowledge, although that seems to be asking a bit too much. Might get picked on for having a mere two posts, mate. Sad, but true. Thats just the way it seems to be around here these days. Anyway I'll try to post a pic of mine as well when I get access to a better camera. Keep me posted. Might just be a slight variance/factory defect on the printing process amongst each pair. Could explain the slight differences I stumbled upon when comparing my two pairs of seemingly "legit" tsubasa's side by side.
