i know it aint. But gym doesnt allow bare foot in there... and for squats and deadlifts and exercises like those, which ive only been doing the past 2-3 months (cos only then have i been shown the PROPER technique), its better to do them bare foot NOT in runner style shoes.
Avoid knee issues, injuries, balance etc...

Nah man. Shoes help with the cushioning. Just keep focused on your form and add weight slowly. Don't worry about your feet.

Those things look fucking weird. I would laugh at anyone at the gym wearing them. Even if they were bigger, as I wear running shoes, thus allowing me to make my escape as some weirdo in bondage footwear tries to catch me.

What lorrie says niko..You'd be wasting money mate!!as long as your technique is correct you'll be fine..As long as whatever's on your feet are well supported its all good.
The only time you'd need specialist shoes for lifting is if your lifting stupid KG and then you'd want something with ankle support not them jobbies.
Pro models wouldn't be a bad bet tbh as they support the ankle and foot

Lol @ j ! There's an old bender in my gym that wears them .... He also wears shorts with the pockets cut out ! You seriously don't want to go down the same route mate ! I wear pro models when doing my leg workout . Lace them up tight & you will be fine

There's a guy at my gym who works out in denim cut-offs. Not seen him for a while admittedly, pretty sure he has been banned.

Pretty sure this guy passed me at the Mississauga half marathon last year. Did he have a tattoo down the length of his leg?

He might have. It was my first half marathon and I wasn't concentrating on anything aside from not dying.

Don't you worry pokey my technique is spot on perfect! And no, no ridiculous heavy kgs for me. Legs are a weakpoint so something I'm working on a lot.
Put it this way I'm no where near squatting double my weight.
Thanks gents. I did go try a pair on today... Must say, they do feel very nice on the feet!
Who wants to buy me some pro mods!!???
