sizing vs. soops version -
danii - 08-05-09
hey there folks i need sizing help with soops.
my soops (1s+2s+vins) are all 7.5us but some of my other adidas are 7us. i'd like to purchase a pair of 80s that are us7.
are the 80s narrower or something compared to the rest of the soops family? is it a good idea at all?

I'd stick with your regular superstar size (7.5)

same as...

80s are about a quarter size bigger I reckon. 10s are a little bit too big for me (where it's just a bit uncomfortable), 9s are too small (to where it's just uncomfortable). Personally, I'd drop a half size but that's just me

I dropped half a size on the REPS due to availability and they aren't terrible, but I'd prefer my regular size.

I may have asked this before but is there any major sizing difference between ss1's & 2's?

I disagree with what everyone has said.
I'm usually an 11.5US (can go 12 in SS2) in Superstars & Stan Smiths. I prefer an 11US in Campus/Greenstars (...and Puma Clydes as well)
I have 3 pairs of 80s, 2 are 11.5US and one is 11US. I prefer the 11US, although the 11.5US still works.
So, in 80s... I'd prefer to go down a half size.

I agree with this King

Me too frankly.
My plain white with blue stripe 80s are a 9.5 and even they're huge.
I normally take a 10.

what i´d recommend is: a pair that is a size or half size too big is always better that a pair that is too small. people say you can take the insole out when a pair is half a size too small and it helps. from my experience it does not help, because a shoe that is too short wont get longer. the space inside just get higher when you take a insole out but not longer.
if you have a shoe too big, just drop an insole in and you are fine.
So better too big than too small imo

I concur with King and Pure, got my 80's stripes on for the first time today, they're an 11.5, my ideal size, but they feel a tad spacious. REPS are 11 and a much better fit.

You can buy shoe stretchers and make em longer. Supes look better in smaller sizes so I dont like buying ones that are big for me. I got some stretchers so if theyre abit small it aint too much of a problem.

'shoe stretchers'? the problem I find with going down half a size is where the top of the shell fits against my foot. The smaller size usually rubs against the top of my toes.
