Dirty needs help... quick! -

I hate to open a whole new thread over this but I need some help from you pros really quick! I won some nice supes on the German bay today but I need some expert advice dealing with the seller. The auction listings showed international shipping to the US to be 14.05 Euro with free shipping on any second item you win from him. I got an email from him asking me to wait on payment so he could figure out the best way to ship the two pair and later came back with 26.00 Euro for postage for both pair. I really don't want to pay that much for postage but im afraid if I argue with the seller he wont ship the shoes and I really don't want to miss out on these. Should I just pay the higher price now and then file a complaint saying he over charged me or just call him out now? Any advice?

Hey Dirty,
Does this mean you have purchased two pairs from him in the same auction/transaction, hence the 'buy more than one pair, save money on shipping' scenario??? Two Euros is still a saving (not much though I agree). Point is, he's got the shoes, you want em bad enough - if you verbally/email confront him on the cost, he may turn around and just say forget it, or yeah, could be worse if he's truly offended/pissed off i.e. you pay, but don't see your shoes for a month...I'd say pay now, then file a complaint...but is it worth it? Difference may not be more than say, 3-5 Euros, tops...my two cents...

It was two separate auctions but on each of the listings it said if you win more than one of the auctions the shipping on the second auction would be free so instead of paying 14 euro for postage for each pair which would be 28 euro total I should only have to pay the original 14. It comes out to a difference of around $20 so its pretty significant but I think i may just pay now and try and file a complaint once I get the shoes.

Since I do a lot of business on Ebay, I'll let you know. This amount for shipping is most likely his cost since it is international. I doubt he would try to get over on you at this price. Shoes are tricky with shipping since you double the size of the package when you ship two pairs.
My best advice is to ask him why it would be so much more since he had claimed that shipping on the second pair was free. It could be, however, that he had meant free shipping for the second item domestic shipping and didn't account for international buyers.
It never hurts to ask...

I would just do whatever it takes for him to send those, i know on principle you should'nt have to pay him extra to send them, but, i personally would just pay the extra to make sure he sends them, too nice to miss out on they are mate, like you say, you can always file a complaint once you have them in your possesion

Send him an email dirty saying you thought the 2nd item won came with free shipping and has there been a mistake or did that not apply to international ebayers!!worth an ask at least that way you'll know the score.Goodluck
p.s 26euro to ship to pairs of shoes to U.S?? isn't a bad price m8 as euro and ££ are struggling right now

Yeah he probably means free for domestic buyers, but it's not overly clear that's the case. If it was me I'd politely ask him like pokey said, and if he doesn't budge on the price I'd just pay it, as I'd hate to miss out on them.

The postage sounds totally fair to me, it costs a lot to post them to the US! I'd be happy if a US seller charged me 25 GBP postage for two pairs.
And like the others say I think he was referring to domestic postage being free if you buy extra pairs.

I agree with MrShotta! Postage sounds fair. I've bought Superstars on ebay.com two times and shipping was always round about 30 Euro...Shipping is very fast, two or three days...And those Superstars are really nice!

I think that's the fault of Ebay and you not translating the German, probably at all.
The free bit is definitely domestic.
€26 is well cheap for 2 pairs, I sent one pair of HUFs to Brazil and it cost me £25 !
Pay the man, no quibbles.

Fair enough, I just wanted to make sure he wasnt trying to pull one over on me after the fact. Thanks for the input fellas!

I reckon you'll get 'em and see €25.70 on the postage label.

Well they are cracking kicks to start with, I can understand why you thought that beacuse I checked out your link and I saw this:
"Free shipping for each additional eligible item you buy from..."
And underneath it says USA. To me that would mean free shipping to the USA on the 2nd item, but "eligilbe item" could mean anything!!
If I wanted them badly I'd pay, then complain but not expect to get the money back
Did you mail the seller before you won them?

I was gonna bid on those myself, didn't even notice the free postage bit.
