Lee Quinones Fake Comparison -
stylz - 06-07-08
Besides the usual checks on 35th's which can be found elsewhere in the Fakes section
of this forum here's some side by side photos to compare with.
All photos are legit in the first pic and fake in the second except where a pair is shown
and then it is legit on the left and fake on the right.
You can see the colour differences and the fakes are only a half size smaller so should be very similar in design layout.
On these fakes the serial numbers are different so don't think just because the serials are different you're safe.
Keep in mind this is A pair of fakes not THE pair of fakes and there will be variations such as the missing
station name versions that have been talked about on here previously.
Hope this helps a few people out there.

Great comparison Stylz!
It looks like the major differences I noticed were:
1) The unformity of the stitching
obviously the Authentics are straighter.
2) The dark or Black section in front of the street names is bigger on the fakes
the street names are almost up against the stiching in the Authentics
3) Well known already, but less of the street names are visible on the fakes
This has been the most obvious tell on Fake LQ's in the past
4) Street cars are much lower on the fakes
The inside of the shoe, the streetcars are much closer to the sole against the yellow & chainlink background
5) The gaps between the plastic stripes and heel strip
The fakes apear to have the occasional gaps where the /// (Stripes, made of plastic on LQ's) meet up to the top of the shoe.
6) Obviously, there are some slight color discrepancies
.... I think this may not be noticable unless you have a legit pair of LQ's to do a comparison though.
Those were the major differences I noticed... Great job again Stylz!

No worries people, these have been coming up a bit lately and thought it would be
good to do a photo comparison seeing as they are more likely to appear on ebay
without laces, boxes or tags as they get older.
I'm not sure if it shows in the photos but the fakes appear more glossy and feel like ultra
smooth patent leather whereas the originals have a slight texture to the print.
Another thing to feel for is the print on the laces, it has a slight rubbery texture to it whereas on these fakes
you can't feel the print, it's like the fakes are printed with ink and the legit ones are a transfer of some sort.
This goes for any of the other 35th anniversary series with printed laces too, rub them and you'll see what I mean.

stylz, as I have now figured out from this site that the pair i own is actualy fake, I thought I could use the opportunity to expand on your post (hope you dont mind me using your pics)
Figure 1
This is the real shoe - notice the perfect stitching
And this is the fake - notice the wonky bodged up stitching
Figure 2
Real shoe - Notice how the striped are flush against the upper plastic
And here's the dirty fake - see it's not quite so perfect?
Figure 3
Real Shoe - See the size of the dot, marking the patterns' scale
And the fake - The brush size is identical, and you can see how much of the pattern is missing from the fake
Figure 4
Real shoe - Check the location of the cars lights
Fake - Need I say more? Also notice how alot of the fencing pattern is not present on the fakes
