Info on fake underworlds - lozza24 - 13-04-08
Thought after a sudden run of legit looking underworlds on ebay recently I should post these. I own a pair of fake underworlds that i bought ages ago and they have a gum coloured clear sole, have the same word printed on the heel of both shoes (although I can't remember whether it is tomato or underworld off hand) have heel clits and came with cream printed laces and a pair of pure white instead of the brown printed ones. These have correct heel prints with no clits[attachment=1836]
The correct laces (although it appears no bag)[attachment=1837]
A clear sole.[attachment=1838]
These are on Taobao right now for about £26 so expect if they haven't already they'll be on ebay pretty soon. I realise the colours look a little off but I think is the light in the photo rather than the shoe itself. What do you think?

lozza, always steer clear of any 35ths with the laces loose like that, if they are brand new and tagged then there would be no reason for the laces to have ever been removed from the plastic, when they are loose it's a tell-tale sign they may be fakes
Never seen fakes with the laces packaged properly as far as I remember

Whereas I respect both of your opinions regrding the use of legit pictures as a the most obvious explanation for these they were simply the first pair i came across in about 20 pages of search results. Even though many are of the fakes that i listed above (noticed mainly from the laces) there are a suprising number of which appear legit. They are all using different pictures which again does not prove that they are the sellers own but it points in that direction.
I can totally respect that you guys have been doing this for years and provide a valuable service to us all in keeping us one step ahead of the fakers. However, I ask you, if they can make the shoe in the first place why do such indicators exist? In my humble opinion it is due to their lack of knowledge at the time of maufacture (even slight variations would not exempt them from copyright laws!) The evidence suggests (check out the worst fakes thread) that the shoes likeness improves as the fakers knowledge of what they should look like improves. Therefore, I personally believe that perfect copies of all the limited ranges are in circulation but currently selling as legit. Personally I would never buy a pair of trainers sold as legit without a receipt from a reputable retailer (and even that wouldn't be difficult to fake) I'll step down from the soap box now

I totally agree, but how easy would it be if the laces were the only issue to take them out wind them up properly and repackage them. We are talking five minutes work to double the ebay value of the shoe.

Not really, if you buy a massive job lot of fake 35ths and they all arrive with loose laces then how are you gonna get hold of the correct looking wrapping for them?
It's only one sign anyway dude, the fake 35ths are easy enugh to spot if you get enough pictures and any doubt at all should be enough to stop you buying

didnt know what to call it really, just thought well I am hunting for adidas for folk so........
the whole thing is getting there, just doing some tweaking, got no real experience but the whole thing is dead simple, got previous design background so how hard can it be?

I picked up some Underworlds recently for around $140 US shipped...common sense I would say re: determining if one is a fake or not i.e. price too good to be true (then its a great chance its fake), obvious color, packaging issues, proper tagged pix, great communication - most importantly, utilizing the great detectives and the guides off of this SSdB...thankfully I haven't been duped...yet!?
