Adidas In Prague.. - olstar - 18-03-08

Me and gem went to Prague for a week not long back..

The country was interesting, mix of graffiti, new buildings, derelict ones etc..

Anyway, when we went shopping, we noticed the LACK of adidas..

The few shops that sold it (one being an adidas shop) had VERY limited stock, and were selling things with 3 stripes on for LOADS!

I was wearing nothing but subtle adidas clothes, and we were both wearing superstars.. I was getting a bit worried as people did seem to be staring at our feet and shit a lot Laughing

is adidas hard to get out there or something?

adidas in eastern europe is popular, but not the originals series. equipment stuff is everywhere and they are all so expensive!

On a side note my Polish friends use the term "adidas" as a generic term for all sneakers, is that a wide spread thing? You know like a "hoover" is a vacuum cleaner...

Dunno mate last time I was there it was on a stag doo with 25 close friends. We went to see the Rolling Stones in some massive open air park, there was meant to be 200,000 people there (but I don't know if I believe that).

Before they came on there was some guy in a suit giving a long speech, we all got bored and started playing up, shouting abuse at him and stuff. After about 5 mins some very big well dressed "gentlemen" came over to us and told us to shut up (well we guessed that's was what they meant). Anyway they stood next to us looking pretty menacing so we shut up.

Turns out it was the president of the Czech Republic and the "gentlemen" were members of the secret police!!. I swear it felt like we were being followed for the rest of the time we were there.

But with regards to adidas I didn't notice, sorry Embarassed

Any mention of Prague reminds me of that, it's a great city and I would fully recommend anybody to go.

older people keep calling sport shoes as adidasy, mostly because in early '80 most sport shoes had 4 stripes, were cheap and so. i hate when they do that. adidas is adidas, nike is nike, sport shoes are sport shoes.
