Okay, finally getting round to sorting one of these out over the next few weeks, after hiring one for cruising down the seafront at Santa Monica and Venice Beach last month, decided on a 24" model, but cant make up my mind on 2 or 3 bikes..
When I was a kid I always wanted a Haro, and they have a new Backtrail X24 for about £190 which doesnt seem too bad, and nice subtle colours, as dont want anything too bright or blingy.
But they also do the Haro F24 which looks great in white, not too keen on the stunt nuts and stuff though..at £225 its stretching the budget a little too..
Also saw a guy at Venice Beach on a "General Lee", orange coloured bike that looked great must have been at least 24" as this guy was at least 6ft but didnt look like he was riding a kiddies bike, do they do bigger than 24"
I know there are a few BMX enthusiasts on this site, what would you go for?

Certainly is, I just had one nicked which I replaced with ................
Another 24" DK General Lee.
The also make a DK Charger in the 24" which will be more expensive but lighter.

Yeh, seems availability on the General Lee isn't great, most online suppliers are showing 'out of stock' or unavailable.
Think i'll go for the Haro, I used to 'have a thing' about Haro bikes in the early 80's whilst reading BMX Bi-Weekly. Hoping one day i'd be able to upgrade from the Ultra Burner.
Done the skateboard thing a few years back whilst travelling in Oz Andy,.. sold shortly after slamming big time dropping in off a metal halfpipe with 2 ft of vert, wow that ramp was fast (and high!). still got aching bones from that now!! Cruising on the BMX seems less risky for an old timer.

Yeah, the new one is about to come out, well worth the wait though.
It's a lot of bike for a little money.
Effel was thinking about selling his one if you live anywhere near Manchester.

Yeah, im in Manchester actually, does he have a General Lee 24"?
I may hang on then and see the new model, surely it must be released to coincide with Xmas sales.

I'm to old for skating now as well, I think that the problem is that I know it hurts now, didn't used to when I was a kid

Decided not to sell it, just upgrade components on it.

Like what ?
I'm still looking for some authentic DK pedals at the right price.

I'm gonna switch thewheels to halo combats once i see some at the right price, and gonna fit some primo hollowbites. Im wanting to switch the froint sprocket to summat bling like a profile imperial. its a pain getting em in the bigger sizes. Debating stick some marzocchi forks on it, but i doubt i will.
