Hi, I'm Tim. I can't get much further away from you UK guys over here in New Zealand. Im 24 on Friday, and I'm a retail designer.
I've been wearing superstars for a few years now, but it's only recently become a little more serious...
I'm also into modified cars (I drive a 135+dB Nissan Pulsar), stencilling, drawing and bodyboarding.

Yeah, i've had a look at his site, the cars are so different to what we have in both the models of car, and how they're modified. 90% of the cars on the road here are Jap imports.
My car is pretty standard, just wheels and sounds, but I'm helping my mate modify his Mazda Familia GTX (1.8T), full custom bodykit and shave, custom carbon fibre bonnet, interior and we are aiming for about 140dB from two 8in subs. Not doing too much to the engine as the gearboxes break too easy, but they're not too slow to begin with.

140 from two 8's? Sounds sweet.
What setup do you run in your car?
My setup that I have at the moment is Alpine deck, Alpine DD Drive Splits and Co-Axials, 2x 15" Rockford Fosgate subs,
2x Rockford amps and an Alumapro cap.

In my car at the moment I have mostly sony gear - 2 x 6in splits, 2 x 6in 3ways, 2 x 6x9's, 2 x 12in P5 subs, a 1 farad cap and 800 WRMS amp. I'm waiting for the subs to blow (don't know why they haven't???). The build happened in stages, so nothing is that flash, Ive done all the work myself with no training - it's just an expensive hobby, like trainers. I've focused on boosting the whole signal, rather than having just loud bass, when it is right up it's not distorting and you can still hear the song.
Next build for me will be when i get a new car - more towards sound quality, but I still want it loud
The 8's we're gonna use are RE subs from America, my mates mate imports them - his car does around that on his 'fun' setup, he has a serious setup as well, several thousand WRMS into 12's... it's nuts, you can see the panels of the car move a ton

Pics of my car aren't that impressive - it's a pretty standard looking pulsar with tinted windows and little wheels. It's got a couple of stickers on it too. Our local car mag has 7, 8, 9 and 10 second clubs for drag cars and they get a window sticker when they run a quick pass. I modified one to say 99sec club - I get heaps of laughs out of it, they also have another for 300+ kW - I modded that to 30+ kW. My stickers probably aren't too far off the truth.
If I remember I'll try post some of my sounds - I customed the capacitor to look like a NOS can, and NOS'd the amp as well.
My mates car isn't finished yet - it's waiting for paint at the moment, and it's something we're doing all the work on so it's not going to be finished real soon. Build it, don't Buy it...

I never really had the time to write anything here, but I can take 5 minutes from mixing now
My name is Martin, I'm from Denmark. I turned 21 march 16th, and I finished high school last summer. Since then I've been working at several places (substitute at a school, at various factories, etc.) to earn some money before I head off for university after the summer. I want to be an engineer working with electrotechnology and after a bachelor in that, I'll take a master in acoustics.
When i'm not working (takes up a lot of time at the moment) I'm enjoying life with my girlfriend, taking a walk in a new pair of sneakers, cleaning my room (I can't stand dust, it freaks me out, and it's not good for the vinyl either). My biggest interest though, is music. I've been listening to electronic music since 98/99, and DJing since then as well. Currently my setup is: 2 x Pioneer CDJ-1000mk3 CD-players, 1 Technics SL-1210mk2, 1 Technics SL-1210mk5, a Dateq XTC mixer, a pair of Pioneer HDJ-1000 headphones and a 600 watt sound system (dynacord amp and EV speakers):
Anyways, I'm really glad I found this forum, because I've always loved shoes. It's only just now I started saying that I collect them. By the way, I just ordered 2 pairs of Upper Playgrounds from their site. I'm SO looking forwards to recieving those, should be great for the summer, and I've always wanted those
