He was more the musician, Bob Moog, the engineer. It was my father-in-law's idea to have a keyboard interface on the prototype. Bob wanted it to be all switches and dials because he was afraid average people would be able to play "tunes" on it.
The stories he has are amazing and the people that he's met and worked with are just crazy. Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Keith Emerson, Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock. The list goes on. He's introducing Thomas Dolby at Moogfest this weekend.
My friend once said that he was "geek royalty".

T'other day I had a Blue screen of death for the first time since forever, happened while i was playing chess online. There isa dump file created but not sure what I can do to find out what why I got the BSOD and steps to make sure it doesn't happen again.
I believe I can download a tool to read the .dmp file?
Any ideas/steps to take on this?
TIA

I wouldn't worry about it - unless it happens again anytime soon. BSOD's come and go especially if you are not running Win7. In my opinion that is much more stable than any other windows version.

Still I would say that don't worry about it if it doesn't happen again anytime soon.

Give the kid an old iPod. Preferably one of the white bricks.

Were those early iPod's built to last? Thinking a little nano may get lost too easily.. He is six :/ for the same reason I wouldn't want to spend a lot. They seem to go for about 30 on evil bay.

All depends on the battery. I haven't plugged mine in for years, but it worked fine then.

I've got an iPod I bought 6 or 7 years ago that still runs fine.
