Overpriced until you spend a day/week/month/year figuring out why your bargain priced PC won't work properly.
Solved: this is why you wait in line instead of ordering over the internet

There is "book smart" and "street smart". This girl in the clip is the former.

That girl is anything but "street" or "smart"

I brought a custom Vaio, so not a quite bargain laptop which is probably why the only problem I've had in 6 years is a vibrating wire, just because I don't buy apple doesn't mean I buy cheap crap, I like to do a bit of research and play around in store with things before I decide what to buy.
That woman is priceless! she is how I imagine most people in these queues are like, "I must absolutely have this phone but I don't know why" and where did she get the chair from? it looks like she took her lazyboy recliner.

I guess I'll share my opinion about the iPhone too. I ordered mine yesterday. I own a 3GS so it's a big step forward for me. I would not have bothered if I already owned a 4 or 4S. People that queue for days are just insane. I would never queue any product.
@Lorrie that girl is cool though
I know Apple is overrated but still I buy because I know it's still a 100 times better than any crappy plastic Samsung, LG or BlackBerry. For me an iPhone is all I need. It's simple, it's good looking, why would I buy anything else???

Got my iPhone yesterday. I like it a lot. I had to buy a cheap-ass rubber case for it because the thing is light (almost too light) and the aluminum slides easily in your hands. Felt way too "droppable" for day 1. I ordered a proper case from InCase but it won't ship until next week sometime. It is VERY fast. Not sure how much of that is chalked up to processor or the network. I was concerned about battery life, at first. After my morning commute, (the most battery-consuming part of my day - music, texting, internet) it was already down to 80% when I reached my desk at work. However, as I type this, (8:10pm, local time) it still has 37% charge.
UPDATE: Charges much faster than my 4 ever did.

I like that too. However I did a stupid mistake and took that ridiculous 16GB version. Well maybe it's not ridiculous for everyone but my previous was 64GB version.
Sold it already and am now waiting for the bigger.

Blimey. I went with the 16Gb for price and knowing that once the accessories come out I'll be able to connect memory cards. Job done.
As for being an artsy thing, that's old news.
People buy Apple computers nowadays cos they've woken up and realised they are so much less grief than PCs.
They are what personal computing should always have been, simple to use and virtually hassle free!

ok... so . Didnt want to start a new thread for this..
But i know we got some musically gifted cats in here
anyhow, looking to invest in a Stage piano/synth... at the moment been looking at a Korg SV1... anyone experienced in these sorts of fields to give any advice?
RE: The Techno Geek thread... -
Tifoso - 24-10-12
Well, my father-in-law invented the synthesizer with Bob Moog back in '64 and my wife's whole family are musicians. If I can't answer the question someone on the other end of my telephone can.

Do you play, Nik, or you just messing around/trying it out?

No i played piano for quite a few years through high school, Kind of fell away in my final year and with uni... but always meaning to get into it.
Problem is, typically, i get inspired really late at night and want to practice, but cant go belt away on the upright piano downstairs.
Want to get back into it, get back into some jazz improv where i left off, and maybe some band work with a few friends eventually. One of my best mates is an insane drummer (funk/jazz)
Really like what the Korg SV1 has to offer, and much cheaper than any Nords and Rolands...
Ps thats incredible. What a history you have

My brother-in-law is a composer in LA and has tons of gear. I will email him today and see what he has to say.

thanks so much!!
Basically after something with a weighted - piano key feel to it, inbuilt synth sounds, USB etc
similar to what the Korg SV1 has to offer
maybe if they have got any second hand gear to let go?? lol
