RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - pokey27 - 19-08-11

I don't wanna put a downer on this idea or anything but we couldn't even get the ssdb t-shirt thing sorted...
Its a good idea and custom ssdb supes would be amazing especially if they all came with are usernames on them but like whats already been pointed out we're a diverse lot here and all like different styles of superstars from vins to skates so agreeing on a design isn't gonna be easy.

Again not putting a downer on it just don't want benji and sneakerphile wasting funds and time for nothing to come of it.

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - benji - 19-08-11

Sheriff Pojey is right you crazy muthafuckers, look at us! The only reason this forum is so interesting (besides good supes info) is that we are all bloody minded and have individual tastes.
If we are strict i.e base colour and stripes\heel/tongue MUST be certain colours and SSDB logo must be the same on each, same size same place...then people can choose there own shoe style and buy it, and have their username in an agreed place. Except for ultrastars, you've got to draw the line somewhere
I can't see why it cannot be as simple as those fucking cabbages... and Deano and I can ensure the Logo work is exact on all of them, eh D?
I vote EZ for project manager to post polls and sanction work as authorised and authentic.
All those in favour etc.

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - olstar - 19-08-11

Doesnt have to be crazy, a simple design with a logo on it..

There are a lot of this working against us, but aint that life?

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - pokey27 - 19-08-11

Blahhhh Pojey!! Laughing and double Blah @ sheriff Wink
We've been here before thats all and its easy to get carried away as all of us have some idea/input about what we'd like an ssdb superstar to look like..
But sometimes idea's are just that

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - benji - 19-08-11

Ok EZ. I propose sticking to forum theme.. White Base with BlueBird Stripes and Heel tab and Dark grey and BB Logo on heel area, username on heel tab in dark grey (user chooses that font). Leaving tongue as is, as this may be tricky to replicate on all styles.

*not a fan of the bending of the font on SSDB logo, but will fall into line happily Smile

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - Samo - 19-08-11

I think the design should be a simple one, I would love to see something come of this, but if a tee shirt didn't happen...

As much as I would love to be wrong, I don't think a whole heap of custom kicks will either...

EZ Firstly we need a rallying cry!

I like this idea. Simple and straight forward. Also gives us a nice opportunity to use what ever supes the owner likes.
I'm just a bit worried about that SS2 thing that you guys were talking about. If we cannot use SS2's then we have to start hunting down something else with white base. Although that shouldn't be a problem as that part would be entirely done by the future owner.

We just have to sort out the way how to communicate which shoes goes to which modmaster. I mean we don't want to end up with situation with all the shoes at Deano's place and none at Benjis workshop, right?

As I said earlier I have no eye for design so I would leave all that to you guys or someone with graffiti background.

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - benji - 20-08-11

Sorry just me moaning about ss2s, they are possible just not my favourite for detailed work. Could limit pairs initially to a first edition, so 8-10, 4-5 to each customiser.. first come first serve? If you don't get the customiser you want you have to wait to the next edition and get in earlier.
Or,
We divvy up the work on each pair so both of us work on different parts of each shoe (the prep work wouldn't matter much who did it), we just need to post them to each other.
We need a logo and a poll on CW.

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - ez-1 - 20-08-11

I understand your concerne about SS2s. Is there any other pairs we should try to avoid?
About that poll, do you guys know if it's possible to change the poll after it's posted? Or should we first gather some ideas and then launch the poll if needed? I like the white base, blue stripes idea my self.

Anyone have any other CW ideas? Don't be shy. I know we have a member who prefers pink and I kinda like that too, but somehow it doesn't fit with this SSDB theme Smile

About sending shoes for customization. Do you guys have enough space for say 5 pairs of shoes each?
How long do think that customizing a pair of shoes might take? Roughly.

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - benji - 20-08-11

Can't speak for Deano, who very sensibly is probably in bed at this time of day... but I would say tumbled leather would look quite different and the details would be trickier. I'd say no suede/ nubuck/ plastic on stripes or anywhere needing to be painted.
If you gave me a plain pair of white 80s it would require less prep and painting based on the CW, logo and username on heel we were talking about. The white base would only be prepped under the logo work. I'd say 3/4hrs total over a few days to allow for drying etc. Can be working on several pairs at the same time.
Also D and I both use the same varnish but different paint so we would need to colour match... I suggest starting with the laces (Tom?) as if you mix something unusual you have to put neutral laces in.
It sounds complicated but it isn't really.

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - ez-1 - 23-08-11

Anyone any ideas about CW? Or are we settling with white base and blue stripes?

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - manus - 23-08-11

what about deftoned's original shoe logo?

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - pukkabruv - 23-08-11

If benji and sneakerphile are both keen to share the workload could I suggest that one does the left sneak and the other does the right sneak, that way ya get better consistency

Yes i do realise this adds to the logistic nightmare, lol

RE: Anti-Spam, and a SERIOUS PRUNE! - ez-1 - 23-08-11

@Manus: could you refresh our memory?
@Pukka: We have listened your suggestion and moved it in to the same pile with bills and such unwanted posts Smile
