Right i've just flipped the green vin laces from my tates into the forest/blk 80s which got me thinking.
The only problem with the 80s is the piss poor laces that come with them unlike normal vins.
Now dave do you stock anything similiar or would it be possible to reproduce the high quality vin laces??I'm sure i'm not alone in wanting spare vin laces or more than one pair per pair but replacements as far as i know ain't available to buy seperately.
Be good to hear from ya dave
hope the sites coming along nicely

Hi Pokey,
I'm afraid you lost me after the word flipped! Much as I love the look of Superstars, the lingo is a bit lost on me at the moment (I'm learning slowly though!) If you can give me a picture of what you mean, I can see if we've got that colour in stock and if not, see if the thread can be sourced. Obviously the only problem is quantity - we can't go purchasing loads if we're only going to sell one pair. If there's enough people want them we could get a custom run but I can't promise anything. I'll happily look into it for you though. Any link to a pic would be appreciated
The new site is going well at the moment but any suggestions for improvements or any problems you are having with it would be great to know as we are always looking to make it better. Not as many people have accessed the discount as with the old store so I don't know if word has got round but I'm sure it will.
Cheers
Dave

I reckon you'd get the demand Dave (if only just from us lot) as the vintage style lace is popular, but also reckon the thread would be hard to replicate, youd probably get a better idea by seeing some in the flesh if possible.

Sorry dave i'll try to be alittle clearer my bad sorry.
There is a type of adidas superstar called VIN or vintage and these adidas releases come with very high quality laces which you cannot buy seperately from the actual shoe, trainer etc.
If your unsure still if you look in zwers collection thread you will see alot of adidas superstar vins (vintage) for reference.
I just wondered if you had anything similiar in quality, texture to these laces??or if it would be possible to actually reproduce these laces.
As you've seen there's deffo demand for these djwildthing been a particular fan (mad for them actually) and alot of us would be interested me included.
I can post you some of these laces if you need for you to checkout for yourself (I'D NEED EM BACK THOUGH
)
Hope thats alittle more easy to understand

Hey Dave,
Yes, the vintage lace is unique in that they're made of a softer material (cotton) than the normal adidas lace. They tend to look a little off white, even fresh out of the box. I've attached a pic for reference.
If you could make duplicate vin laces I'd buy a wack of them.

How about puma type laces? They are like a tube or something [it's doubled layered or w/e you call it]
like the ones you find on clydes etc.
to me, those are probably one of the best if not the best laces out there.
anyone know where you can get them? i doubt you can get them from any place besides a new pair of pumas though...

Thanks for the explanation, and the pic - I think I know the style you are talking about now. We obviously don't have them, but I will ask around another few places and see what I can find out, but they look VERY difficult to replicate so unless I can find their source we might draw a blank.
While I'm here, a new website has sprung up called fatshoelaces, the runner of which has stolen all of my images (even the temporary badly Paint Shop Pro'd ones!!) If they're not removed within 2 weeks we will be investigating legal action so I just thought I'd mention it in case it is anyone who comes on here, or if anyone knows them. I'm all for a bit of healthy competition but, as with fakes, stealing other people's work isn't really on. Your very own Steve-O is currently shooting us some new pics which look awesome so they will be up the site soon (watermarked this time!)
I'll keep you posted on the Vin Laces.
All the best
Dave
