Good post P, I could never be like that, buying a million pairs of soops to impress - you lot would easily see through that. (and I couldn't afford it)
I simply like being a member on here, I love the knowledge of knowing about new releases even though I'm far too fussy to go out and buy them.
and I don't like vins.

I Hope I don’t fall into that category
, I do like it here and have never had any interest in any other trainers or social network sites, plus I hope to meet you all one day, suppose only time will tell.
Is it possible to fall in love with a virtual world??? And believe that random people on a website could actually be your friends????
Just as well I’m not a 12yr old girl

Being one of the newest here, I can see how it would burn people out. I have a lot of Adidas SuperStars and others. I stumbled on SSBD when I was buying my Atmos 80s and thought I could help out some people here.
After that, I stuck around and started leaning more towards Supas again. The key point here is the community. I don't know if I'll see anyone here face-to-face, but I've already helped and been help in Supa hunting. And to be honest, since I've been here, I've probably seen more posts that are non-superstars than anything else. Birthdays, deaths, graf, trips, hangovers, etc. All of it worth every moment of reading.
For those who joined and bought tons of kicks to fit in, you've missed the point. Sure some long time members have tons of kicks, but others only have a few. This site is for people who love/collect/wear Supas, but it's the people that make it an amazing place to visit.
Cheers!
***No problem Lurky! I'm glad to see they made it quickly.***

Mr P has written similar posts 3 or 4 times during my stay here. Folk get over-excited, spunk a load of cash they don't have on a fad (for them) in a desperate attempt to be liked by people they don't know, then fuck off when they get called on it.
I'll admit when I first joined I went a wee bit daft, but soon calmed down and becoming much more choosy with my purchases. I wouldn't worry either Lurky, yeah you've bought quite a few pairs, but they've pretty much all been absolute quality, plus you've helped a shit load of us with heads-ups (not sure that's a phrase), not to mention those lids/boxes.
I've not bought a pair for a couple months now, but I still pop in every day to see what's what, like Shellshock scaring away newbies, or to take the mick out of Samo's Seagal love.
Good times.

Here, here Damyien, I too have been helped loads by members on here and in turn i've tried to do my bit.
I may well fall in to the buy lots category but the problem for many of us newbies is having your eyes opened to the amount of great Supes out there. It shouldn't be a problem to buy what you want as long as it's for your pleasure and you can afford it.
As Mr P rightly says those who are not interested in being on SSDB will ultimatley leave anyway.

What's been said.
I've not been here actively that long either but have been following the forums for much much longer and honestly couldn't care less what others think of the supes I have as long as I love them. I'm not looking for anyone's approval on the internet, never have on any of the forums I frequent nowadays. I just enjoy the vibe of this community and if along the side I'm able to find some sweet supes to wear, that's a nice bonus.
If I join a forum or any social network thingy and if it's worth my attention, I don't tend to leave anytime soon. There are a few forums where I've been posting for over 10 years by now so when I find a nice place, I'm there to stay.
I've always loved supes and as a perfectionistic and neurotic (
) collector and materialist and whatever else, I truly found the calling to start collecting supes a few years before I registered here even if I have since bought pretty damn many pairs compared to my pre-SSDB days, I never buy more than I can afford and collect purely for my own pleasure so I can wear something I enjoy wearing and glance all the shells filling up my apartment with an amazed look like I'm doing with some of my other collecting hobbies.
Don't have even half the (re)sources many of you have but if possible, I've always been trying to help people with their problems, no matter whether it's finding supes or good music, people with similar interests, struggling with personal issues,... anything really.

I just wish I'd found this place before I went on honeymoon.
All the Boston, NY and Toronto kick shops I missed out on.

I do not love Seagal...
Geez, you buy a Seagal dvd for a Seagal fan and get branded for life...
I have to say since joining SSDB I have bought a lot more supes than I did pre SSDB, but I think that's mostly down to the fact that when I joined I just got a job that gave me the means to afford to buy more and this site also showed me where to buy from and how to spot fakes.
I don't buy for e props, I buy because I love supes. I come here for the community spirit, the banter, the news on new releases and because this is the only place that understands why I have a wardrobe packed full of blue boxes.... There are a few heads on here I would consider friends now, and maybe one day I'll get to sit down in real life and enjoy a cold one with them...
People who buy to get e props I feel kind of sorry for, because they must be very sad and lonely if they need to validate themselves by attempting to impress a bunch of strangers on the internetz...
Looking forward to seeing what's in the box D, you dirty tease!
