What's your problem with the Adidas Superstar Fans facebook group? It's thriving and a great little community of superstar lovers. It's great for newbies to the superstar game and we're all sharing loads of info on new releases. There are rules preventing re-selling etc. as well so not sure what you're referring to there.

Bodega taking and keeping my  $140 for almost 2 weeks before cancelling my order of the BITD Supes as "there's insufficient stock to fulfil the order"  thoroughly gripped my shit this morning.

This, is the problem!
Newbs, with no fucking soul, nor idea, about the Superstar and what it represents to the majority of collectors, getting on a bandwagon because some magazine or website told them it was gonna be THE thing this year.
They find out about shit they have little or no business knowing about, from people who should know better in an effort to be the man, thereby depriving people who actually give a fuck!
Facebook is cold, runny shit.
We deal with enough morons in here.
Putting up with a sea of them in that shit hole, no thanks!

I'm going to just have to flat out disagree with you here. With all due respect, I do not understand the sense of entitlement you seem to think you have here. You're acting like you have some kind of intellectual property rights over the superstar. Just because you've been doing this a long time doesn't mean you deserve to own a pair of trainers more than someone else... People who don't have years of experience, who don't have some kind of unity with the "history and culture" of the superstar are not inferior human beings just because you find their uninformed questions irritating because you're fed up of answering the same questions over and over again. I do get it though, I still hang around on the FB pages for my old car club and when I see new people asking how to change a windscreen wiper you do have to Facepalm and think what a fucking moron. However, everyone has to start somewhere and I don't see how the way someone finds themselves into Superstars or how recently it happened makes a blind bit of difference. Surely this group exists because of a shared interest, yet you are belittling the people that want to share the same interest because you think they deserve it less than you. That's pretty low man. I know this probably constitutes treason to the superstar royalty here but hopefully my opinion is allowed...

I definitely deserve to own a pair of 35th d-mops in a UK10 more than anyone else.
if these newbies are still around in 6 months I'll give them the time of day otherwise I'm with Mr.pure... "banning hypebeast time wasters since 2005"
RE: Things that make your blood boil -
TheUKPete - 22-03-15
Do you really think the Hypebeast time wasters will be jumping all over 35th D-Mops though? They are more likely just gonna be happy with the new releases, like the foundations, the 80s deluxes and maybe some metal toes or something. I don't think they are a threat to anyone getting their grails. Mainly because they won't be putting in the hours to hunt them... If anything, the guys on here are more of a threat to you on that front as I'd imagine there are a few people here who've been waiting a long time to pick them up...
RE: Things that make your blood boil -

I don't feel threatened by them or anyone else... well maybe supersk8
, all I'm saying is the majority will move on to the next big thing that the internet tells them to!
RE: Things that make your blood boil -

Ok but some of them won't. Some of them will stick with it and catch the bug and those guys will be the ones keeping this game afloat in the long run... Every scene needs fresh new blood and needs to adapt. The only reason that FB group exists is because SSDB didn't create its own. I went looking for an SSDB FB group maybe 9 months ago and found nothing. It may not be for everyone but you can either accept the change in the tide or fight against it and one of those results in going nowhere. I'm totally new to collecting and I'm already trying to share the knowledge I've gained in under a year. I want to do what I can to make sure people know not to buy fakes because the more end up out there the more end up getting resold and more people get ripped off and I don't want to see that cause it doesn't do anyone any favours...

Thing is, it kinda does. I definitely feel that I, as someone who's been wearing Supes since the 80's, I definitely deserve to own a pair of grails over someone who's only just recently discovered the Superstar and I'm pretty sure most long-term members on here would share that sentiment. Shit gets a bit competitive when you've got thousands and thousands of collectors worldwide all hunting for a few hundred shoes so it's natural that veteran collectors tend to band together, look out for each other and are guarded against sharing too much with people who rolled up last week and started buying every shoe in sight. Â
And no disrespect intended Pete but yo....this isn't a fuckin "scene" Ok? We don't need no fresh blood and we sure as shit don't need to adapt to an influx of clueless knobheads who've suddenly caught the vapours and jumped on the hypetrain.Â
Tell you how I know that FB group is full of snakes: Pretty much every single post is a request for help. So I posted a few "helpful" replies to some harmless questions and then decided to ask members to share their stories about why they collect supes, what inspired them to start collecting and how they got started. Not. One. Single. Solitary. Response. Not one. What does that tell you? It tells me that them people in your "scene" are quick to try and suck out a man's hard-earned knowledge and experience like vampires but when you ask them to give a little something back, to contribute to their own "scene" it suddenly all goes quiet. Surprise, surprise!
Spite loves the place but even he said he's noticed, and I quote, "a lot of chavvy cunts joining lately".
But yeah, opinions and arseholes, everyone's entitled to one.
You singled me out because I happened to share my thoughts on the subject but at no point did I say "I" was more entitled to anything.
I meant the chaps in here, for sure.
The long service they've given, answering questions and what not from largely ungrateful fly by nights, never to be seen again, is immeasureable.
As for us adapting to the new forms of media or slipping quietly into the night.
I'd rather talk to the cream of the crop, in here, than the bottom of the barrel, in there!
The anonymity, what there is of it, in here is essential.
Last thing I or anyone else wants is some thieving cunt to find where you and your trainer collection live.
A process made all the simpler once you've got someone's real name. ( I appreciate I could open an account King Pure but frankly, for that shit hole, nah, you're alright, thanks!)
And lastly.....
"one of those results in going nowhere."
Trust me on this, this forum will still be ticking over with lively debate about the Superstar long after you've left!

You know some superstar collectors have never put fat laces in their supes.
Found a group on FB called The Superstars of Adidas.

To be honest, I'd rather some collectors
didn't put fat laces in their Supes.Â

I'm not sure what point you're making but I welcome it, all the same.
That group sounds familiar, did Olly set it up?
I had a brief look yesterday and found a group hoping to get a Superstar, released officially, in the Facebook colours.
To say I felt this proved my point, is an understatement!
Amen to that, Shellshock.
Saves you bothering to engage someone in conversation about their trainers as they're probably not bothered.
